I used to have one, and really wished I'd been brave enough to break out the grinder and give it some stick. I've been tempted to buy another, and wondered, as this was the first skoda produced after joining the VAG family, if they shared any parts, such as springs as lowering kits for polos are ten-a-penny. So having searched on VAGCAT for part numbers, I came up with this: Front Spring Felicia 1.3 6U0411105G Rear Spring Felicia all 6U9511115C Front Spring mk2/3 Polo 871411105B Rear Spring mk2/3 Polo 871511115A From the similarity of the part numbers, I would guess that the springs are the same, although I could be wrong. I know the front shocks are different, as on the Polo the steering drag link is part of the shock body, and on the Skoda it's cast into the hub carrier. If you found all that a bit boring, here's a photoshop for your trouble:

You've got a good idea but I think that the Felicia suspension is still a left over from past cars.
It is similar to the Mk2 polo but the bottom of the front strut is held in by a bolt/clamp, more like the Fabia, which is newer and the front spring part no is 6Q0411105AD so similar agin.
Its also similar to the Mk4 (6n) polo, but the bottom mount is different again, the 6n is again similar to the Mk2 Golf
You could try looking for parts for a Mk1 Seat Ibiza, they aren't listed on VAGCAT tho
good luck

Polo and feli are not the same car unfortunately.
Either by lowereing springs from somewhere (E-bay) or get the grinder out, or i have been informed that fiesta xr2 front units fit!

Balls. I stand corrected. I just missed out on a Feli on ebay too, finished on £127.

Felicia suspension is the same as Favorit. Chopping is the way to go, the shocks on my Fav at least have loads of travel and are well suited. Mine is dropped about 90mm on the original shocks and has been for nearly a year with no problems at all - the ride quality is actually not too bad!

To absolutely deck one you'd have to go about -120mm but then your front springs would just be a rod of metal with a bend! This is what I've got to hand anyway: Before:After (as captured by DarrenW at VW Action): Made a few changes since that pic but you get the idea.

that looks awsome. was that just from loosing coils out of the standard springs? Yeah, about in half from what I can remember. I wouldn't usually go that low on standard shocks (me and a mate of mine have done quite a few now) but like I said, the Favorit/Felicia shocks are up to it. that is cool ;D makes me want to get a Favorit or a Felicia now, I'm envisioning one slammed and fitted with a golf gti engine ;D It's not a straight swap. I'm in the middle of building an 8v race motor for mine at the moment - you can buy it off me when it's done.

Oh well, still it would be the ultimate boy racer taunting machine ;D Guess it would be easier with Felicia though as some of them had vw diesels fitted or are they're engine mountings just the same (as the favorit) ?

After (as captured by DarrenW at VW Action): Made a few changes since that pic but you get the idea. Epic. Win! Looks soooooo cool. I've always wanted to do something like that to one of them, ever since my bros girlfriend had one. Might still be on the cards I think.

Yeah, Felicia diesel parts are the way I'm going. It's the same (or at least very similar) block as the Mk2 GTI motors. I haven't finalised what I'm doing about engine mounts yet, I don't think it's as easy as just bunging diesel ones on. I'm hoping for ~6s 0-60 when mine is done, hopefully in time for summer!

To absolutely deck one you'd have to go about -120mm but then your front springs would just be a rod of metal with a bend! not so but you do need to get lowering shocks once you attempt that kind of drop - the standard ones will bottom out at rest! the rears you can replace with felicia ones - they're around 10-15mm shorter as standard. nothing on the felicia suspension is compatible with the Polo, but all is with the Favorit, and so you can get -35 - -60 springs very easily and cheaply from a few companies; my pet recommendation being Jamex from motorsportworld in scotland.

How do people get on with chopped/lowered springs on em come MOT time?
Presumably if the shocks are long then the springs drop out of their seats when they're unloaded?

not so but you do need to get lowering shocks once you attempt that kind of drop - the standard ones will bottom out at rest! Have you gone to -120mm? Pics if so! Not on chopped standard springs though surely, mine have about 3 coils left as it is! How do people get on with chopped/lowered springs on em come MOT time? Presumably if the shocks are long then the springs drop out of their seats when they're unloaded? They have to be secured in the seats so they don't fall out when the car is jacked. This can be with wire, jubilee clips, cable ties, etc. Mine have two cable ties top and bottom and it went through a strict MOT fine. The tester said it 'looked dodgy' but there was no reason to fail it, and he was really trying to find a reason to. The key to using cable ties without them snapping at the top end of suspension travel is to make sure there is no movement of the spring - if the spring can move within the cable tie it will snap it.
