Like this one. I can only find silver or blue on the bay and no one seems to do them anymore looking on google. A company do them in the U.S but they are $48 plus postage to england, and at the current exchange rate that's like what,......... 5 million pounds? I need to pimp my chevette engine you see.

urgh and when fitted, they look like they were bought at halfords too why would you want to cheapen the look of a car in such a way?

I was gonna say, they tend to end up looking a little cheap..
A bloody good clean and maybe repaint/highlight a couple of parts underbonnet usually helps - repainted rocker cover, cleaned/painted airbox etc etc...

agreed those hose kits look nasty when fitted
why not go on ebay and get some new vac hoses in a colour you like , and some stainless fasteners for the bits that show
couple of aerosols in satin black , silver etc for the bits n pieces you can whip off and spray , and some of that split tubing wiring wrap to tidy up the loom

They are pretty grim - and they also stop you seeing the condition of the hoses underneath and any minor leaks that may have started...

personally I would go for some good branded silicon hoses (but again cost is an issue)
unfortunately I don't know of anywhere that would sell them either

Yeah, I was trying to decide if they are curse word or not, and that's pretty much a unanimous vote that they are. I was going to de-greese the lump and give it a spray of UHT, spray up the rocker cover and polish any bits which can be polished. Once I've done that I think it will look good enough anyway. Cheers guys, this has been a debate with me and me for about 3 weeks.

Those are cheap for a reason, quality stuff is available from Speedflow and the likes but isn't cheap. This was mine with that stuff: Don't really like silicon meself, too much of it everywhere although it can be got in black.

Don't really like silicon meself, too much of it everywhere although it can be got in black. Well thats the thing you see, silicon just wouldn't look right on a viva. But I reckon a de-grease and blow over of the engine bay and careful bit of cable postioning and it will look good anyway. I'l scrub up the hoses and get them looking lovely

I find steam cleaning the engine bay is enough for pimping duties.
Cleanse your engine bay, cleanse your soul is what I say.

A light spray of WD40 on the hoses looks good

I actually prefer nice new black rubber hoses to silicone or braided. Obviously braided hose has it uses from a safety aspect.
