Wow what a transformation for so little work!
Looks great, but got to ask, there was a welder involved with the arches inbewteen the chopping and covering up with arches wasn't there?! lol

My brother had one of these a few years ago and it was a great little motor, had a Janspeed engine in it and was, apparently, an ex-rally prepped car from the research he did. Sadly the tin worm got in and when he had to scrap it the rear suspension went through the rear towers in the scrapyard car park! Probably just as well it did then... anyway, to answer your question, I'd say not to go with the arches, I don't actually think the improve the look of the car, I think they look like you've bodged your way around rusty arches (which of course you have). The little stepped detail on the arch is a nice design feature on these cars, it would be a shame to loose it.
However, I would say use the arches as a quick fix to make it MoT friendly but be aware that it could be a rust trap rather than a rust solution.
NOTE TO SELF: Check which page you're on before you make a reply, especially when you have a dodgy mouse that clicks things when you're not looking.... ignore me!

That's looking muchos awesome! To top it off I'd be after some spacers for the rear though
|
|
Faster. Faster. Until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.

Yeah needs spacers for the back for sure Will be doing a few biys and bobs over the next few months. Have a huge rev counter for the dash, gonna repair the rips in the vinyl on the seat, clean up the engine bay, repair an oil leak etc... Just hope the weather gets warmer quick

Enjoy the ride
