id like a bit of single layer metalic mixed up in celly or something that will air dry for touch ins
i know years ago it was possible to knock up a drop in single layer as ive done it my self for touch in's or engine bays etc
any ideas ...need lc3u vw colour

Cellulose metallic paint doesn't require a lacquer, but it's better with one. For touching stone chips in and stuff its fine. The lacquer just helps bring up the shine. It's not like this water based stuff that washes off if you don't lacquer it.
The custom mixed paint at Halfords is Cellulose, They can do it as pure paint in 100ml(£7.99), 500ml, 1l or even 2l or mix it into an aerosol (£11.99).
Not cheap but probably easiest and on par with ordering online once you've paid postage.

does it not dry matt though? Nah, comes out a reasonable finish, quite shiny but not a proper deep shine until you lacquer it.

I would prefer to use a single stage acrylic metallic than celly without lacquer but its doable.
