Whoops, is this still here?
Well, I havn't looked at the car for three months. Ive just come on here, seen AM has pretty much finnished the turbo caddy, and Dez is doing a new budget build I got some inspiration. Once xmas and new year is out of the way I'm getting back in the garage!
The paint came from 'nu-agane' i think they are hugspaint on ebay - got a real sweet deal. About £200 inc the spray gun, and another 5l thinners not pictured.
And to add, MGB minus bumpers = win!

well, update time - today involved this: a bit of this: and some of this: sooo, lotsd of shiney bits revealed, cleaned up and etched with metal ready. Once I do the roof and get the filter/reg for the compressor I can prime the interior, and move up the list to door shuts and under the boot floor

Got out to the garage yesterday for a bit and got a lot of the flakey old sealent off the under boot floor, just turned to dust! Doesnt llok like much, but the wire cup brush in the grinder on your back for 3 hours is suprisingly tiring. Nice and solid underneath luckily. After this I drenched it in metal ready, will slap some por 15 over it in a week or two.

I don't know if anyone else can see it, but in the pic above, the leafs of the spring seem to be sepparating a little, then chrshed back in by the U bolts. Should they be like this or should they be nice and 'uniform' and tigthly together all the way along?

I think this is a record for me - another update! Went to put some paint on the bare areas today, so I pulled out the can of black POR15 that I did the engine bay and floors with about 4 years back..... eeerrr, rock solid! So I dug out the grey can, luckily that one had sealed a bit better! First coats in place So, next job is to sort out a little repair in the rear arch, then rear valence. After that I have to whip the wings off again to get the door hinges out so I can blast them and clean up the door shuts. sweet, actually feels as if I'm making some progress!

alright- sebring valence today, got some assistance from mrs GW's soon to be step dad with some panel fitting tech and metalwork advice. we got the lighte son and valence trimmed and taped up. The infil panels for the rear wing didn't follow the line of the lights and valence to well, so we made some new ones: Lining up and fitting the first: first welded in second welded in and thinking of TonyBMW and shrinking stretching, improvised our own jig to tap up a bit of bar that weill be bonded into the top of the valence with captive nuts welded in: so nexzt is top and pottoms for the infill, then fitting the valence itself and filler/fg'ing it all in. going to put some supports behind to so it won't all crack and fall off if someone nudges it!

Went round to the garage last night and put the top and bottoms in one side, and started trimming up for the other....should get that welded up tonight, bit of paint and filler tomorrow along with bonding in the brackets. Sweet, should be able to get it all on and filled over easter!

Breaking News - GW in Third Update in Three Days Shocker! No, you're not imagining it, i've had my mojo on! Welded some bolts into the curved bar, drilled some holes and 'dry fitted' it all up: so, not looking too bad. made some tweeks and painted up the bracket/bolts bit in primer. Will black that over and bond it into the valence next time around and fit it up proper. Just had a a mojo failure tonight though as the daily broke down....grr.

So - Ordered lots of parts today and stripped out most of the cooling system: Any one know if there is a drain plug in the block for the coolant? And I took a nice pic in the evening sunshine: Will need to look at the brakes soon as they are non servo, and don't do a lot. but i've not had a non servo car for an age so they may be fine!

No drain plug, just take the bottom hose off the rad.

the problem is that still leaves coolant in the bottom of the blcok, as the bottom rad hose goes up to the pump.....never mind.
The problem then comes with getting the bottom rad hose off while all is warm and in situ when performing the flush! Fun and games, I forgot how crampt the engine bay was on these....you only ever remember the good bits about them!
