Even worse than "cills" is "seals". Another one is "IMMACULATE FOR YEAR" in car ads........its either immaculate or it isn't - age has nothing to do with it!

Another quick fewbefore this ends up in the whinge bin:
People who itch (rather than scratch) something that's already itchy!?!
People who can't tell the difference between specific and Pacific (I've seen this in exam answers and car ads!)
American TV shows with references to Eye-ran and Eye-rack!
Pupils who used to mispronounce the desctiption of my 740 estate as a"heap o'wibblepoo" when they meant "retro wagon" ;D
Finally the one that I come across most often in the classroom: People who use how when they mean why!! eg: Please move to that seat over there? How? By standing up, making your way round the room to the correct seat and then sitting down again. Eh? Ah dinnaegetit!

Look. It's really simple. 's after a noun indicates possession (the boy's car) . No apostrophe is a plural (the boys). Apostrophe after the s is a plural possessive (the boys' cars) Other uses for the apostrophe are in marking omissions like they're (they are) and I'll (I will) - the apostrophe in these cases takes the place of the first missing letter. The only really difficult case is remembering which of these is correct for "IT IS" (as opposed to possession of IT) It's or Its and, seeing as how we are now gloriously and wonderfully off topic by at least a country mile...... IBTL I'm glad we have successfully sorted out the Saxony Genitive LOL

Apostrophe's in the wrong place, I have a T-shirt that says "The boy's are back in town" so that means that the boy is are back in town. WTF! I think you'll find that that is actually correct, the apostrophe is there to tell you that there are multiple boys. Grammar fail! An apostrophe is only used to shorten "A boy is..." or refer to an item belonging to a boy. An apostrophe is NEVER used to pluralise a word!

My biggest car name gripe, when people add an A to the end when they say Porsche. Jeremy Clarkson is bad for this but then he always pronounces Volkswagen with a V in the middle. Dave. The porsche/ porsche'a thing bothers me too... what kinda guy would have been called Ferdinand porsche'a Tsk, the correct pronunciation of the word Porsche, being a German word, is Porsh-uh, not Porsh.
