Was perusing the magazines in the M1 services this afternoon and spied the latest Max Power, on the cover is the most awesome 911 I've seen in a long time..... ....I love the matt black, the wheels, the just driven out of the pits look with exposed rivets, everything. I may just have to buy my first MP of the millennium to see more of it ;D

Sometimes you have to look outside your magazine comfort zone for something a bit different

I actually bought this very magazine the other day, largely because of the Rauh Welt Porsche, which looks hard as nails. There's a tasty-looking Golf and Focus on the front too. There's some nice cars in there, in amongst the knob gags, boobs and lazy journalism. (Very nice Passat CC on air right at the back, just before "the porn on your mobile" adverts) According to the article Rauh Welt are apparently responsible for the invention of cable tied bodywork, extreme camber, riveted arches, deep-dish wheels and tyre stretch. Which, I have to say, I was surprised about, having assumed that most of those things had been around for a very long time and had just come from motorsport in general... Ten trends for 2010 and their guide to rat look make kind of interesting reading as well. Lots of things that have been talked about here and elsewhere on the interwebz for some time; interesting to see if Max Power and Fast Car proclaiming them The Next Big Thing is enough to make them so...

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

That's mint. You're right, it does look like it's just rolled out the pits.

I'm really impressed by this new, slightly more grown-up direction that Max Power is heading in. Hats off to them. Pretty soon (if it hasn't happened already) Max Power jokes will be as unfashionable as Skoda jokes.

I'm not sure its any different to normal to be honest? its a road car dressed up like a race car, which is essentially what most of their feature cars are isnt it? I'm not a fan to be honest, if you want a race car build a race car, if you try and make it work on the road as well then the whole car is compromised for both purposes, his ride his way though.

by 'creators of dish, stretch and camber' i think they mean the Japanese in general - as they were the ones to bring it all out of motorsport and into the modified retro scene

by 'creators of dish, stretch and camber' I think they mean the Japanese in general - as they were the ones to bring it all out of motorsport and into the modified retro scene Nope, paraphrasing here but it definitely says "If you're running cable tied bodywork, mega camber, riveted arches, deep-dish rims or stretched tyres, you've got Mr Nakai (guy behind Rauh Welt) to thank".
