This spreadsheet makes for very interesting reading. You can see how many cars from every year were taken for an MOT, what they failed on , how many passed and failed on. Take a look! follow link below www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=613045 It seems old beetles fair quite well with an average of 23.2% failure rate!

Also shows there's about 10,000 Novas left on the UK roads, but only about 700 Senetors- interesting!

EDIT: should have been quicker with my sarcasm.

OK, I can't get on the VOSA site its well slow but...
In some respects isn't this a league table of who maintains their cars badly as much as which cars are prone to faults? Example 1982 AC Cobra has a 100% MOT fail rate LOL.
According to their data my 1966 Buick didn't go up for an MOT at all in 2007. Which it did.
I'm not sure how much I would trust the rest of the data.
Not one Plymouth, DeSoto, Oldsmobile, tested?
No Morrises tested either? Not one Triumph 2000?
I am only looking at the excel version but the data is just junk.

Public sector organisation in poor dataz shocker.
Despite this I have of course hoarded it all for future procrastination over buying cars.

This was posted earlier HEREIt looks like VOSA have been bullied into putting this data into the public domain, and as such the quality of data is pretty naff. I've not looked but apparently there's an Audi 80 on the spreadsheet that was registered in the 1880s

And of course various journalists are now writing "shock horror Ford in MOT fail shame" type articles assuming this data to be gospel.
No wonder that VOSA didn't want to publish it. Whole manufacturers are missing from the data.

But perhaps we should remember that Siemens are responsible for the computer system running the MoT's and it various glitches its had since it introduction. Maybe this has just highlighted another mess we weren't supposed to know about!!
