I like it,and your views now make more sense than ever before. Oldbus and I were parked right where you parked on Sunday. It was one of the advantages of turning up late, i could park right at the front i take it you mean my views on style etc, i have a very broad taste and i have always been around lots of different cars all my life so I'm quite 'educated' as it were. The pop hanging up in the last pic is my dads baby. And was once featured in street machine magazine:That will probably be started again once the escort is done. Heres a few others of my dads while I'm at it: Moggie pickup his sierra and my mums moggie behind: his sj Theirs an xr2 and a mini too but have no pics.

Wow, he likes his toys. ;D Thats a very clean shell, surprised me. That Moggy is lovely too. And that Sierra is nice too. Thinking of spraying the Mondeo 16's on mine black aswell.

That's got to be the cleanest Mk1 shell I've seen in a very very long time.

Looking forward to seeing the completed article, as my dad had a red 1300GT when I was a wee nipper, and I've always hankered after an Escort Mk1 but could never find/afford a good one.
Also liking the Minor!

Must have missed this first time around. That Escort is incredibly clean. That issue of Street Machine has happy memories for me - I think it was the first issue I ever bought and opened my eyes to whole new world....

yaaay!we have some progress!!hi there my names jim(dad of bigkris)and hes asked me to put up some pics as hes even busier than me.i am new to this posting malarky so please be gentle with me : i will give you a bit of background on the car, then show you some pics...rigt then,i bought the car about twelve years ago as a standard 1300gt with 32,000 miles on the clock.it had stood under a sheet for years so i sorted the brakes, fluids ,bushes etc then mot it and my wife started using it daily after a few years of use and another 16,000 miles i took it off the road and robbed the engine, box ,brakes, halfshafts and various bits off it to put in an mk1 escort i was putting together for my son kris as his first car(coolest kid in college?!! .anyway my escort sat under a sheet awaiting its turn for some love, then finally i pulled it into the garage last year.progress is slow cos i work a lot of hours and i am getting old ! enough rambling, heres some pics; most of the rust was at the front of the car with the wing rails, flitch plates, front panel and wings needing replacing bit of crud cut out drivers sill/floor and... nearside rear arch plus a small patch at the bottom of the passenger door.so after some cutting, welding, swearing, bleeding and lots of tea drinking its now getting there and the underside is now(mostly )painted in the origlnal saluki bronze . i know a lot of people will hate the colour (i used to myself)but over the years its grown on me and i think it will look classy when i put all chrome trim back on.i hope you like it,good comments help to boost morale and i need all the boost i can get to get off me bum and get it done!more soon fellas.

That's an awesome shell by UK standards As for the colour, I reckon its tops, and like you said, once all the chrome goes back on it'll look excellent. Keep up the work on it, it's going to be super once done.
