My Rocco is Pewter Grey and this doesn't seem to be an off the shelf colour, Where would be the best place to get this made up? I don't fancy asking the 16yr olds in my local Halfords. An online place would handy. Any info welcome

There's a place in Cardiff I've used, did me a proper BMW black in a rattle can for about 8 quid, mixed in about 5 mins to OEM spec. I'll try and dig up a name/number

They're called Coatings Direct, unit 2 Swift business center, Keen road, off East Tyndal Street, Cardiff. Opposite "Ferraris" car parts distributers. You'll need the original paint code if you can find it eg mine was bmw 086 black

I'm afraid I asked the 16yr olds at Halfords at they produced me rattle cans of DAF Averto. Without even a paint code at its a really good match. Expensive though because it was lead based

I used to work in Halfords and I got a lot of compliments about my paint mixing skills!
Good luck with it.

The teenager said "The computer says, no" The do a VW A7Y, and I do recall someone on one of the VW forums saying that certain places drop the first letter of the code, but the description was something complletely different. More research needed before I part with £14 for a rattle can

Give this guy off EBay a ring. He's a "proper" shop down south and everything I've had mixed by him has been pretty well spot-on. He also does 500ml versions if you want a little more than a can but not enough for two. Phone number's on the EBay page and he's a helpful bloke - even sent out a couple of empty litre cans for me to mix some celly in for no charge when I asked him. He forgot to put them in the box with the paint so sent them out the next day as a separate parcel (still no charge) when he realised. The cans are nice to spray with as well (unlike the last Halfrauds I used which seemed to have a jet nozzle fitted) cgi.ebay.co.uk/400-ml-Nu-Agane-Professional-Aerosols-Any-Colour_W0QQitemZ330378227173QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint?hash=item4cec13ade5

I used to work at Halfords and mixed paint for loads of people..........
A7Y will be the same as LA7Y, all VAG paint codes begin VWL. The Halfords paint computer system puts the L with the VW bit not the actual code. Plus there is a good chance the name will not match as the program is originally Italian so alot of the names are either in Italian or the original european language on the computer.
Hope this helps ;D

Though, to be fair, if the teenager can't see the L which is about 8.3mm away from the A, or doesn't know about it, I wouldn't trust him to mix it either. 0.2g out on the mixing scales in any of the colour tints will change the shade btw. I'd ask for someone with lots of experience...

Well I went to another Halfords in the hope to speak to someone a little more "experienced" but alas this kid couldn't even find the right one even when I was using the "Halfords" system code! I went back to the first Halfords and got the kids to make me up a can of A7Y. Here's the result, I painted the grill spoiler, I think I should have given it another coat though.

The halfords mixed cans are really the best rattlecans you can buy "easily". Cellulose rather than the off the shelf 1k garbage (works ok for some metallics, but for flat red they spray like milk!)
The result does depend on whether you end up with some part time moron or someone who cares (halfords biggest issue)
Have you lacquered over it?

Yeah, it has a reasonably shine to it. This pic doesn't show this though.
