Hmm...
Not really feeling this one. I don't think the arches suit it at all - they make it look very high waisted and the wheels look too small because of it...
Personal opinion, of course...

Picture I just posted on the other thread... views? Nice car though, and i'm so glad it still has the amber front lenses, I hate the clear ones on mk3 and mk4s - looks hideous IMO!

Not for me. Well, actually that's not strictly true, it's definitely got some really nice touches, the interior's mint, but I just don't like the Mk2 forest arches, they seem to have the wrong angle, and the wheels are too small! 14 or 15's for me I prefer the look on a Mk2 to be honest. The Mk3 lends itself to something a bit different; To be honest though, the RS Turbo was about as good as it gets!!

Boring I must be. I'd prefer an S1 RST. They got the looks quite spot on from the factory even if they only did come in white. A nicely breathed on engine with some trick suspension would also be in order . Whilst that 1.3 has some lovely touches it IMO is trying too hard in some areas (arches and wheels).

Hmmm... can't help but think that it'd look better without the arches.

Top marks for effort. Thirteens with low-pros are gonna give a pretty hefty slam on their own but I reckon fitting them gives you a problem - big arch gaps and the solution isn't that simple - you either put the car (literally) on the floor or fit arches further down and close the gap...it looks like this guy chose the latter. Personally, I'd have gone for bigger wheels rather than smaller arches...but you'd lose some of that old school flavour!

Looks super clean!! I like the choice of wheels, but I think Rmad has it- The arches are to fill the gap created with such a low profile set of rollers. Myself I think it could go just a little lower and still look good with the standard arches and 13's, like this one: Or here's how it might look with the arches filled with bigger diameter wheels: I think there's some conflict in styles- The arches are more rally style where as the rest of the car is shouting euro.... But maybe it's the builders intention to not fit into a category? In which case, kudos

The arches are horrid and the wheels are too small but its obviously been done to a very high standard.

Dale With you there. Always felt like arches made a car look like a tractor. Citroen AX GTi is the classic example. Beautiful car, designed by the same guy who did the Countach (You can just about trace the design line for line) but those big ole wheel arches, putting curves on a sharpe straight-lined car, you may as well write 'John Deere' on it . . . or . . . 'Proton Tiara'. Here we have another clean straight-lined car from roughly the same period with curved wheel arches are imposed upon it. I think I'll call it 'Apollo', maybe ship it out to . . . oh I don't know . . . Brazil? Other than that, it looks nice and clean. I'd perhaps think about re-rimmed steels though, but that really is a personal prefference.

Weren't the Datapost RS Turbo race cars taken off the production line as regular red cars before being given the touring car treatment?

I'd prefer it without the arches as it looks nows, but it if had some sporting livery and accessories (e.g. rallying) then the arches would look right to me

I think it's great, but its very under-wheeled IMO. It's so close to being excellent (those wheels without the arches for example, would be beautiful)
It's played out, but some Escort Cosworth wheels would fill the arches properly and sort the "big bloke in high heels" look it's got going on

Very nice but spoiled (at least for me) by the arches which just don't look right and the wheels which just look to small.
Still, I do like Mk3 & 4 Escorts and I think that as decent ones become rarer then prices can only increase so if I want one, perhaps its about time I got one.
