Hi guys,
I picked this up yesterday. A 1983 1498cc Mk2 Strada Cabrio. Had been sat in a garden for 8 years until yesterday. Because of it being under a lot of overgrown bushes I couldn't get a proper look at the outside of it. The inside is like a jungle itself due to a leak. Me and my brother had a nightmare getting it onto my trailer because the brakes were seized on and the tyres were knackered. When we finally finished it was getting dark, so couldn't look then.
Went to the lockup where its stored earlier though and had a look round. As you probably guessed, being an old fiat it has its rust issues, but from the looks of it, not than many. The rear quarters under the windows are gone and the two doors are gone. But the rest looks in quite good shape. Checked the engine over too, all looked good, so I stuck a battery on it and it started after about 10 seconds of cranking! Although I only let it run for about 3 seconds as the whole lockup was filled with smoke and the noise was like a machine gun going off next to me as the exhaust has fallen off from the manifold.
Back to the main reason for this thread. Is it worth putting it right or just scrapping it? I know there not the most sort after of car but you don't see many about because of the rust problems.
Have some curse word pictures of the car, because thats as best as I could get from inside the lockup.
and have some ones it a bit better condition
