I ride past this sometimes and I love it. An old Merc 280SE and it does not seem to be in too bad condition. I want it. It's on Diplomatic plates which I know nothing about - I am guessing these cars don't need road tax or it would of gone. Definitely not used any more as it's not moved an inch in about a year, and bits and pieces are starting to get pinched from it (hubcaps, badges etc).  Where would I start? (assuming I have access to a tow-truck!) |

HMMMM just did a dvla vehicle enquiry on it and no vehicle details found on that plate? Guessing you cant do it with dip plates..... Where bouts is it? No ones gonna pip ya to it, Just someone might know who owns it. It happens  |

apply for the logbook, become registered keeper. remove vehicle ILLEGAL! don't do this ^^^^^ Registered keeper does not mean legal owner!!! That is theft. |

That is theft. registered keeper can drive it though, and keep it on there property, they just don't own it  Ok then , Assuming your nasty enough to do that, What happens for insurance then? *so then sir, are you the registered OWNER of the car...* I don't think ive ever been asked if I'm a registered keeper, Its allways owner, Even my insurance docs say owner on them... Any small thing like that would invalidate insurance... Although then we are getting into what ifs. You in no circumstances should take a car in the manner you described. It is illegal no matter what way you look at it. |
