An old friend of mine has a 1985 toyota corolla ae86 trueno levin.
He's thinking of selling it and just wanted to know what its worth, its not in bad nick for the year of car (26 years old!) No mods at all to it.
What you think?
Thanks

As with everything, it's worth what someone will pay for it. Try Googling around and seeing what similar ones are going for - it's not like there's a hard and fast price list for used cars...

That'll go to Ireland for a fair old wad of cash. Just put a decent, well-worded ad on eBay and it'll find its value no bother.

No mods at all to it. What you think? Thanks Hi Smithy, You're obviously savvy enough to know how to ask on a forum as to the value of a car. You also refer to it as an AE86 Trueno Levin, which uses pretty much every Google reference term you'd need to know how popular these are. You also haven't posted any pictures of it, or explained the current running condition other than an incredibly vague 'not in bad nick'. In short, what do you actually want?

Would have, the market is still strong but the days of 'whack it on ebay and it'll get bought by an Irishman' are gone Driftworks would be a better place to advertise it or Pistonheads

Okay, you're best bet is to advertise on Driftworks or Pistonheads, as to value. It's a Japanese import, which affects very little, provided it's MOT'd and Tax'd with no mods, and the original equipment in place (seats etc) it would be 2K and up. Prices did get pretty crazy, 10-12K euro for good examples but people are more realistic these days. You should try and post some pictures which would help, a lot

He either has a Trueno or a Levin, they are two different models.
Trueno = Fixed headlamp Levin = Pop-up Headlamp
The Levin wasn't a Corolla in Japan, it was a Toyota Sprinter, however for the export market they used the Corolla name on both models.

The economy going down the toilet is boud to have affected things. Not one bit. There isn't as many being imported, as quite a few already have been and many come straight from Japan now. But believe me, the prices haven't nose-dived.

AE86s are uniquely referred to as 'twin-cams' E30 325iS' are uniquely referred to as 'sports' Both are priced far above market trends.
