Hello there! I'm new, thought I'd just share my cars past and present, this was my first car: This, my second: And this is my current car, it's a Citroën azu250 built in '69 imported in 93 and I've owned it for the last two years, it ran in the banger run called the scally rally in 2007. As you can see there is a bit of a theme here, I've had three a-series citroens, but I have also had two 'normal' cars.... A 1.1 metro rio, and a 1.9d felicia van... Anyway I'm off to look at other peoples cars on here, chaio!

no update for a long time, the van now wears some sexy cut out front wings, and ive started building the sound system and cupboards in the side of it. pics to follow...
also, the wheezy little twin pot has never run quite right. ive had endless probs with fuel, ignition and timing and earlier this week, it cut out on a junction, failed to start or bump start. it would turn over and appeared to be fuel related. so i abandoned it for the night and went back to it after work the next day. whipped the top of the carb off and went through all of the jets and filters, put it all back together and tried again. eventually it started but would only seem to run with a fair bit of throttle, so i limped it home with it screaming away in second as id just die in any other gear doing 30. cut the long story short i fitted a spare standard carb with no avail. on the off chance i whipped the plugs out and discovered an insert had been fitted into the head suggesting the threads had been crossed (heads are ali). not a problem? think again, the curse word came out with the plug and wouldnt come off it. with no replacements and me needing it the next day (daily driver) looks like id be replacing the head, again pics to follow!
now on tickover it runs sweet as a nut, bit flat 30-50 but flies after that! its still not 100% so I'm replacing the 123(electric ign with pcb) with standard points and ordered a valve to run after the oil breather.

few up to date pics, not a lot has happened, apart from it still wont run properly, seems to be on first choke, even though the carb has been replaced by a standard-jetted solex like previously mentioned. as i promised (very delayed i know) theres also a couple of pics of the head being replaced- wings off exhaust unbolted and part removed rocker cover off head off and back together and a few i took today- and me!

I keep wanting your numberplate to read 'Caution' and it doesn't, breaks my head a bit.
Epic thing, it really is.

cheers everyone! amuses me how the bodywork is in the worst condition ever and you all still like it! trouble is, because its taken me so long to decide how i want it to look I'm gonna have to get rid of all the filler and rust proofing, and do it all again!

Right, been having fun today. My steering rack has had an inch of play at the wheel for a while, so as the mot is due in a couple of months I thought best to get it sorted, so popped to my mates for an extra pair of hands. This is when I turned up.. Bonnet and wings off- Engine out- Gearbox out- Swing arms and rack out- As I'd taken all the front suspension off I thought it would be a good idea to fit some swing arms from a later 2cv with telescopic shocks, rather than the tiny ones mounted on the hub of the wheel then i thought why not fit up rated springs I'd bought a year ago? Old spring can gone- (oh btw the springs are mounted along the chassis rails for those who didn't know) New going in- So.. That's replacement rack (untested), two mossy green front swing arms from a scrap chassis in my mates yard and one side of suspension changed.. I didn't realise I was going to loose so much ride height with these new coils... And this is how it's sitting tonight, just a tad on the curse word!
