If you join the Mk3 and Scorpio group on Facebook, the previous owner is on there (or at least was). I'd done a brief search of facebook before for Granada groups and never found that one. Did a bit more of a through search this time, found it, was added and am now in contact with the previous owner who said he is going to forward on the cars history/paperwork to me and to top it off I've found a few old photos of the car pre accident. Absolutely delighted with that. Can't thank you enough for lead on that page Del.

I like the RS option kit, but it really does emphasise how under-wheeled the mk3 is. I presume you'll be moving the bumpers on rather than just binning them..? *n Yep the wheels do look lost in the arches, I have a set of Mercedes 18'' Monoblocks sitting in the shed that I might try on and see how they look, Have a feeling 18'' wheels will be too big but. No I won't be binning the kit despite my dislike of it. I'll keep it for the meantime, Once I find out some history on the car and whither she had the kit from new or not I'll either keep it with the car or sell it on. In so far as I know there were 2 kits offered by Ford, This kit and a 2nd more popular (thankfully) RS kit that consisted of smaller skirts , a 3 leg spoiler and a small lip for both the front and back bumper. If anyone knows of one of these kits for sale I'd be interested. 6) Photo shamelessly stolen from Google. Front view of a Granny with a RS kit front lip (with a laguna splitter added) 7) Rear view showing the rear lip and the RS kit 3 leg spoiler.

Yes someone was modifying her a bit with the painted wheels, tints and bumpers and I'm sure there's people out there who would like it, its just not to my taste. No other plans apart from putting her fairly standard. Possible hit of the lowering stick and new wheels but that will be about the height of it. Power wise I've heard of people using V6 vectra injectors along with aftermarket management which is not my specialty at all. Plans are to sort out the easy stuff first then worry about power upgrades.

Well I have no completed projects, 2 current projects on the go and about 3 waiting in line so given I have plenty of time off over the Christmas holidays what would be right thing to do.. Start browsing eBay for 1980/1990's barges probably isint the answer to that question. I had my mind settled that out of a Carlton, Senator or Granada that a Granada would be my barge choice. No point in buying a 2.0 for it can hardly move itself, A 2.9 cologne is not much better therefore it was going to be a 2.9 BOA Cosworth version. Unfortunately for me there was one for sale on eBay when I went browsing. A black over black 1993 2.9 BOA Granada Scorpio that was near enough fully specced. The more I thought about it the more I wanted it, I inquired about the car on the 27/12/16 and after thinking about it (aka: talking myself into overpaying for it) I bought the car blind without seeing it earlier today. Entering the number plate into MOT checker revealed nothing surprising. A car check was also done that revealed nothing that wasn't mentioned in the advert. Some of the rough history of the car that I know of is as follows. It is a Black 1993 Ford Granada Scorpio 24V Auto saloon. It was first registered in London on the 24th June 1993 as K859 SBY. It has had 8 owners with the current owner buying the car in May 2015. The previous owner bought the car during December 2009. It had a personalized number plate LYA1Y during October 1999, not sure for how long the car held this plate. Around 2010 she failed the MOT only once on some rust but its to be expected of a UK early 90's Ford, suprisingly seems to have passed all other MOT's and never really appears to have been of the road for any considerable length of time. During June 2016 the car was involved in a small incident where the passenger side headlight, sidelight were broken and the wing+bumper was damaged. That resulted in the car being declared Cat D by insurance. A Ford breaker wound up with the car from the insurance company but decided against breaking it. It was listed on eBay where I found it and bought it. 1) Auction photo showing the front drivers corner. Still retains its Cosworth wheels which need to be resprayed. I'm unsure about keeping the window tints. The body kit consisting of the bumpers and side skirts are actually Ford parts in so far as I am aware but these will be coming off the car as soon as possible. I'm thinking I will keep the spoiler for I like the look of it. 2) The rear of the car showing the spoiler. The paintwork appears is in very good condition which was one of the reasons I bought the car for its was a sign that she has had money spent on a respray or else had quite a bit of care over its lifetime. 3) Side view. Paint work looks good here aswell and overall the car looks to be straight. 4) The interior. I think I've located a factory headunit which will fill the hole in the dash. Aside from this the interior seems to be in very good condition. Features include heated black leather electric seats, reclining back seats, sunroof, cruise control and fuel economy guage among other things. 5) And here is the main reason for purchasing her. The 24v Cosworth BOA V6 putting out around 195 HP. Will change the timing chain very shortly to avoid problems as the car comes with no history. Aside from this the seller says is starts and goes well with no noise upon startup so hopefully there should be no worries. I arranged for the car to be brought home earlier this evening. It should be here by the weekend hopefully so plans for the car are to sort out the crash damage with a new headlight, sidelight and wing (which is spot welded to the car.. Not a fun repair). The body kit will be removed before it makes me or anyone else throw up. As the body kit fits on over the factory bumpers I assume both bumpers will need to be resprayed as well as the wing. The timing chain will be replaced and the rest of the car given a general tidy up. Will hopefully make for a nice machine for cruising. If anyone could give me any history of this car it would be greatly appreciated, photos of the car at any shows, etc would be great.

Was going to get one of these a while back but begrudge paying £500 road tax, I've had a mk1 gs sport with 210,000 miles didn't put a drop off oil or water in it in 8 months of ownership couldn't hear it ticking over current daily drive is a 98 ls400 with 120,000 on had it for over 12momths covered around 5000 miles I think they only need fuel as I haven't added oil or water in this, only issue I had for mot was a new Headlight bulb & no advisorys. Would be interested to see how you get on with it Thanks, being a 2005 model it's in the 'lower' tax band, read slightly less of a rip off but still dear band of £295. You don't know how handy you have it over in the UK. In Ireland the tax on a 2005 Lexus GS300 3.0 is €1,809 per year, equal to £1630. Ahh the joys of the Rip off republic.

technically not abandoned, someones project that probably wont happen Looks to be a Ford model T Touring from between 1917 and 1925. More than likely closer to 1925 than 1917 because of the demountable front wheels.

39. Both half leather 306 front seats now fitted into the Berlingo 40. I then bought a parts van for €30. From this I got a new tin of filler sitting in the back, a cd player, a good passenger mirror, a good passenger wing, passenger side park light and hockey stick. I also got some small trim pieces such as the drivers door bump strip and glovebox lid latch. On top of this I sold the passenger door for €20 so the van and all the parts are only costing me €10. 41. The replaced passenger side mirror from the parts van. 42. The replacment passenger side wing, park light and hockey stick from the parts van. The passenger was a cheap reproduction that was being to rust heavily around the edges. The hockey stick was broken in half and the park light was slightly broken and full of dirt which had damaged the reflector inside. 43. Replacement alternator bracket, idler, alternator and belt. Total cost €65. These had to be replaced as the original dturbo alternator was knackered and the original berlingo one wouldn't fit. 43. Found 3 tires on my own cars for breaking so I got those swapped over to the berlingo rims. I then decided to respray the wheels. This was only a very quick job to make her look a bit better. Total cost around €15. 2 tins of wheel spray silver at 5 euros a piece from my local motor factors and a roll of tape at 3 euros. I had a some sandpaper, a tin of oxide primer and also had some lacquer lying about. In the end there was 2 coats of oxide primer, 3 coats of silver and 1 coat of lacquer. 44. The finished wheel. Nothing impressive looking yet because of the rusty wheel nuts and the missing center caps. Despite it being far from perfect it still brighten up the van a lot. 45. Got a set of these in my local breakers yard. Thrown in with a few other parts they would have been around 8 euro. Giving them a quick coat of paint before fitting but the wheel nuts need to be cleaned and sprayed before the center caps will be fitted to the van. 46. Whilst I was at the breakers yard I got a working fuel filler cap. Not cheap at €15 but the van was is desperate need of it. 47. And another find in the same breakers yard was these 2 wind deflectors. The pair came to €10. A quick clean and they were fitted to the van in a matter of minutes. 48. And that leaves the van looking like this. Still needs a lot of work but she is getting there. As you can probably see in some photos there is a few rusty patches to deal with around the rear arches/ rear quarters but I'll sort this out when I get myself a mig welder. Well that brings the Shitren up to date as of the 24/10/16. She has done around 600 miles so far and she is constantly getting better and more free after her 10 year long sit up. A lot of things to sort yet but overall I'm happy with my result. To do list... Fit centercaps + clean wheel nuts. Replace front drivers side balljoint. Get front tracking done. New glowplugs. Get injectors serviced. Modify back axle so it won't fail like most Berlingo axles do. To do this you fit 2 grease nipples to the axle and pump the entire axle housing full of grease. Once the housing is full it will push the grease into the bearing lubricating it preventing it failing. Replace drivers side back door with another. Replace passenger side back door with door from parts van. Fix some of the dents? Full respray at some stage maybe? That will be far into the future should it ever happen. Tidy up the wiring in the engine bay. Old wires from the DW8 engine lying everywhere. Drivers door sometimes wont open from inside van. Sort this out. Fans wont come on to cool van down. Inspect this. Test it, Tax it and finally Insure it.

Well over the past 3+ months and 350ish miles the Berlingo has been a reliable enough runaround with no problems to mention. After 3 months+ touring around it was beginning to look slightly shabby so I figured it was time to give the van a bit of a wash and fix a few small things that have been bugging me. The first thing to fix is the 2 door speakers. They crackle and rattle and are both past it. I have a 2002 Saab 9-5 for breaking so it donated its 2 front door speakers (Pioneers). 29. Old speaker on top and 2 replacement ones on bottom. The replacements still contain the mounting brackets for the Saab but these just unscrew. After that its just a matter of wiring them in and screwing them on. And of course I forgot an after photo showing the speakers fitted. Ohh well. The next job was to start upgrading the interior. I also have a Peugeot 306 HDI for breaking which has a full half leather interior. The front seats were promptly removed to be fitted into the berlingo. 30. This is the factory interior. I'd be complementing it if I said it's not much to look at.. 31. The passenger side half leather seat as it was removed from the 306. 32. Comparing it to the berlingo seat to see what modifications would be necessary to fit it to the berlingo. The 306 seat rails were unbolted from the half leathers and discarded. 33. To remove the seat rails from the berlingo seat requires use of an angle grinder. There are three 1 inch long welds on each side of the rails holding them to the base of the seat. Cut all six welds to separate the rails from the seat. 34. Take the berlingo seat base, clean off the remaining welds with a flap disc. Line up the berlingo seat base on the half leather seat. Mark where the old mounting points for the 306 rails meet the berlingo seat base and drill accordingly. At this point I sanded the berlingo seat base and gave it a coat of gloss black to tidy it up. 35. The half leather seat bolted to the berlingo seat base ready to go back into the van. 36. The passenger side seat refitted. Well worth the effort when you see the difference between old and new. Funnily enough the half leather seats match the rest of the interior of the van much better than the standard seats do. Looks like it came from the factory. Another thing that has been annoying me about the van in the state of the back windows. They were painted white (presumably for security reasons) with what looks like house paint. Some of it had been scratched/wore off and it was looking shabby. 37. Before.. 38. An hour or 2 later, some Nitromors (Useless), some thinners and a paint scraper. Its a small touch but I reckon it makes the van look much better. And that just about brings the van up to date. Will be getting the drivers seat fitted in the next few days hopefully I'll have another small update before long.

17. Got some presents in the post Priced my local autoparts shop and it would be 125 euros for a Belt and water pump for this dTurbo. I'm on a tight budget at the moment, some ebaying later and I had a SKP brand timing belt and a water pump posted for under 50 euros. Now I'm all for shopping local but when there is that much of a difference...... The SKP branded belt kit contained a Gates belt with SKP bearings, Good quality stuff at a very good price imo. 18. New belt, idlers and waterpump now fitted. 19. Timing belt covers fitted. 20. Engine/box split so I could modify the dTurbo flywheel and check the condition of the clutch. Clutch has a few miles left in it so it was left in. 21. Black flywheel is the straight diesel one. Rusty flywheel is the dTurbo one. I've marked on the dTurbo flywheel in pencil where the 2 holes need to be drilled as they were on the straight diesel flywheel. I think these holes were 14mm? 22. Tie the engine onto the Matbro.. 23. Now this was tricky.. Some brilliant engineers at Citroen/Peugeot figured they would make the engine and box combination about 1/2 an inch wider than the chassis rails. This means if you are to install the engine from above it has to go in at a ridiculous angle.. As I figured out after I took this photo. 24. One XUD dTurbo located in its new home for the foreseeable future.. 25. New oil filter, changed oil. Old filter was a prick to remove after being on there 11+ years at least. Then the usual stuff, wire up starter, alternator. Plug in all the plugs to wherever they will fit. All pipes to wherever it looks like they should go. Fit driveshafts, hoses, radiator, throttle cable, etc, etc. After all of that is completed.... 26. Its alive!! and it is badly in need of a wash. 27. Doors still lying slanted and back windows still shabby. 28. Interior now contains a radio, and its a CD player at that Well that brings the Shitren up to date. I've done over 100 miles so far and everything seems good. A lot of things to sort yet but overall I'm happy with my result. To do... Replace the passenger side park light as its past its best. Replace front passenger side hockey stick (below headlight) as its cracked. Replace 2 back tires with load rated ones Replace 1 front tire as it has camber wear. Replace the fuel cap with a proper Berlingo one. Fix back doors lying slanted. Repaint back windows. Fix some of the dents? Full respray at some stage maybe? That will be far into the future should it ever happen. Tidy up the wiring in the engine bay. Old wires from the DW8 engine lying everywhere. Test it, Tax it and finally Insure it. Right.. Thats quite a to do list. Good thing its in no rush. For anyone looking to do this conversion here is what (I can remember) that I did to get this engine to fit. 1) Modify the Dturbo flywheel as shown in the photo . I drilled 2 holes in the same place on the dturbo as they were on the Berlingos flywheel. No major accuracy needed in this job. One thing I also did was drill a hole 180* around the flywheel to account for the weight lost by drilling the 2 holes. Hopefully this should mean the flywheel isint out of balance by a major amount. 2) Swap over input fuel line for Berlingo one. Had to lengthen the return line so it would reach the berlingos return line comfortably. 3) Swap over top engine mount (one on the drivers side). This was a complete prick of a job. I'd estimate I spent close to 10 hours modifying the bracket. It fouled on everything it could. 4) Swap clutch cable over from ZX to Berlingo. Rubber bung on ZX cable does not fit into hole on firewall hence there isint much holding the clutch cable in place. I spent quite awhile sorting this out. 5) Change clutch from push to pull type clutch. Another job that 6) Find an ignition live to power the stop solenoid on the fuel pump. The stop solenoid is located on the end of the fuel pump below the injector pipes. I found a ignition live going to a box that was mounted between the passenger side strut top and the bulkhead. 8) Swap over vacuum pump on the side of the cylinder head for the one from the straight diesel engine. 9) Swapped over all sensors from the old engine to the new engine. 10) Modified the timing belt covers using a mismatch of ones from both engines. This was necessary because of the changed engine mount. 11) Had to modify the downpipe by taking the dturbo downpipe and welding it onto the berlingo exhaust system. Now I'm definitely forgetting a good few things but that is the majority of the jobs I had to do. In total it took me around 3 weeks of evenings and weekends. This isint a start the job on Saturday morning and hope to drive it to work on Monday kind of a job.

6. Now I had a berlingo with a blown engine. I could break it for parts and make some money.. I could put a replacement 1.9 straight diesel engine into it, sell it and make some money or I could put a 1.9 dturbo engine into it and keep it and make no money at all. Its quite obvious as to which option I went for... Shown here is a 1995 Shitren ZX 1.9 Dturbo found just 2 miles away from the house. Tractor fired up, trailer thrown on, a small amount of money changing hands and we're in business. 7. Struggle getting her loaded on with 2 locked back wheels and the front steering locked (key lost) 8. Just showing how tight it was. Got the car loaded onto the trailer just as the sun was setting. With no lights on the tractor nor trailer I set off home. 3 or so miles of back roads later and I made it back to base... in complete darkness. Chancy enough 9. So the car is 1995. It was last tested in 2003 and last insured in 2005. Sometime mid 2005 it was crashed, dragged back to the farm, thrown in a corner and it stayed there untill I bought it. So this engine has not been turned over nor ran in over 10 years. I was told it was still running when it was dragged back to the farm but... well.. look at it. 10. And this is what I wound up with.. a Dturbo with a Bosch pump and a Garret turbo complete with a birds nest and most of the previous owners garden. 11. A short time later I had this. 1 Dturbo engine... 12. Which left with with 1 dead ZX shell (Now breaking for whatever parts are left on it) 13. Then you roll the berlingo into the shed.. 14. Then you turn this... 15. Into this. 16. Now the Dturbo engine is out I figured it would be the best time to service it. So far I've done the timing belt, idlers and water pump. Once the engine is in the van and I know it runs I'll do the oil and filter. And that brings me to where I am at the minute. Currently swapping over fuel pipes, engine mount, flywheel and other brackets off the old DW8 engine onto the XUD engine. It sounds easy but nothing fits handily. Everything so far can be made fit but it wasn't just a bolt on job. Hopefully before long I'll shoehorn the engine into the van, connect wiring, pipework etc and try for the first start.

Well its definitely not retro but theres been a few other berlingo/partner threads on the fourm so I figured this one would do no harm A about a year ago a mate of mine bought this and started driving it as a run around, He got about 5 months out of it before the 1.9D straight engine shat its head gasket. He didn't have the tools nor money to fix the van so it lay at the back of his house for around 2 months. At the end of that 2 month period he was going to England for work so the van had to go.. 1 phone call out of the blue later and I owned a 2001 Berlingo with a blown engine. 1. Fired up the tractor, threw on trailer and went to collect the van (A 6 or so mile trip there). Some of you may have seen the build thread for this tractor in the ''Other projects'' section of the fourm. 2. And here she is! 01-DL-7894. Fairly straight, 2 good front tires, 2 bald back tired, a blown engine, Half of the engine compartment in the back of the van, a few dents here and there and no radio. Why didn't I just stay at home and leave my money in my pocket? 3. Fairly straight. Need a new fuel filler cap door but. 4. Rear doors hanging crooked and back windows need to be repainted over. 5. The interior. Straight enough, both seats are tired but. Also a distinct lack of a Radio as I previously mentioned. The plan in here is to fit a pair of 306 HDI half leather seats. These don't bolt straight in but it can be done without much bother. Luckily I have a 306 with half leathers for breaking at the moment so the total cost for the seats will be zero.

15. So as I said before I started into the RHS arch and sill for it looked to be the handiest of the 2 to repair. This is it as viewed from the inside. Minor rust visible from the bottom but nothing worth talking about. The seam between the rear quarter panel and the inner arch is perfect with no rust visible atall. 16. And this is the LHS arch as viewed from the inside... Heavy rust everywhere, Holes drilled all over the spot where a slidehammer was used to pull out a dent, filler thrown over everything to cover the holes. To call it a complete mess would be a complement 17. And this is what I pulled out of the LHS arch before I took photo 16. Looks to be around 2 tubes of silicon sealant? This ran from the top of the arch to the bottom covering everything. 18. This is the LHS quarter panel to the LHS door jam. Holes, filler and bad welding everywhere. 19. And this was the LHS quarter panel when viewed from the outside. The entire panel from the sill up to the plastic bump strip half way up the side of the panel was covered in around 1/3 inch of filler. I no longer had the use of the gasless MIG at this stage so the welding has been put on hold untill I purchase a MIG welder. 20. Around this time I started purchasing some bits.. such as these set of alloys. 16'' 4x100 Alessio F1's. I figured this would suit the corolla better than the 17''s that were on her when I got the car. Just awaiting a refurb and a set of tires. 21. I also went out and bought.... An entire parts car! Another 1995 1.6 SI. Had been crashed which twisted the shell at the front. Engine and box had been sold so I bought what remained for a steal. From this car I got a LHS front wing, 2 arch liners, 3 17'' alloys with 4 good tires, LHS side skirt because mine was cracked, a uncut parcelshelf all of which I'd need for my car. 22. Then I got bored and went ultimate boy racer/chav by painting my brake drums bright red. I've yet to find out how many horsepower has been added to the car by this addition 23. Walking through a breakers yard not so long ago I spotted a Corolla in for breaking. No front bumper left on the car but on the ground infront of the car were these, 2 replica GXI fitment foglamps. 15 euros later they were mine. 24. Before long they were dismantled, cleaned and ready for paint. 25. And after reassembling them this is the finished product.

Luckily with this car being a SI it all ready had a few nice (mostly cosmetic) features including 3 leg spoiler, molded rear mudflaps, sideskirts, front 3 piece splitter and the SI/GXI/FX-GT only interior. The main difference between the SI and the standard corolla is the 1.6 4A-FE engine versus the standard corolla having a 1.3 4E-FE engine. The SI model also comes with full electrics including mirrors, windows and sunroof. 6. The SI/GXI/FX-GT interior. I didn't have a photo of my own to show you so here is one I have robbed from eBay. 7. Part of my plans... Partly turn the car into a 20V (FX-GT) replica. The first part to this was the front bumper. I know a friend who had this so I bought it.. along with all the other corolla parts he had. RIP 95-DL-5948 8. The next part was a GXI/FX-GT back bumper. This was got from a local scrapyard along with a GXI grille and a spare set of moulded mudflaps. (sorry for the bad photo its the best I could do not having a photo of my bumper on its own) So I got the car into the shed, jacked her up, removed the side skirts, grabbed a screwdriver and started poking..... Bad idea. Hole on the RHS inner arch, RHS sill rotten at the very bottom of the very end. LHS inner arch perfect, LHS arch rank rotten, LHS sill at the very end rotten. Not a great start.... 9. The car in the shed before welding began.. 10. Well I got the lend of a gasless MIG welder for a day and a day only for it had to be returned to the hire store next day, Luckily it wasn't me paying the rent or wire I started into the RHS side for it seemed like the easiest, Rot cut out and new metal welded in. Sadly I have no photos before I cut the rot out as I had no camera but ohh well. This is the end of the sill after it was welded. 11. This is the hole on the RHS inner arch after welding. 12. 2 coats of rust primer later and a skim of filler.. Yet to be sanded down at this stage but progressing none the less. 13. Coat of oxide primer over the entire arch. 14. Inner arch back in shape after some stonechip.

Well I'm not sure if you could consider it retro or not but here it goes.. So in early March of 2015 I fancied buying a E10 Corolla, Mostly because a good few people I know had them at the time and I liked the shape. The plan was to buy a standard 1.3 car and take it from there but a relation had just purchased this car for its wheels and the rest was either going to be sold or broken for parts. I called around to the house one day, looked at the car, test drove it and we agreed on a price. €300 later I was the proud owner of a 1995 Toyota Corolla SI...... that had no wheels and rusty sills. 1. The car after it was delivered This was the ninth of March. Overall in not bad condition for a car that is 20 years old. Rusty around the front wings, few small dents and scratches, missing some small trim such as the center of the 3 piece splitter and trim from the wiper arms, nothing major. 2. Rear shot. Standard back bumper, notch cut out for a towbar and paintwork worn away where the hitch presumably was rubbing off the bumper. Apart from that perfectly straight. 3. Another rear/LHS shot. As I mentioned the previous owner was keeping the wheels (Alessio F1's) but let me keep them on the car untill I got myself sorted out with another set. 4. And of course I was so enamored with my first proper car I had to plenty of ''artisty'' photos. 5. (small) fleet line up.

Well, It took some time but she is finished! 77. After the bonnet got its few coats of oxide primer, 3 or so coats of filler primer it got 3 or 4 coats of 2 pack topcoat. 78. Beginning to reassemble the bonnet. Fully painted inside and out, new bolts used throughout on reassembly. 79. The distributor got a proper rebuild using a new bearing and new bushing, new points, new condenser, etc. Shown here after being repainted again with the top half given a light polish and lacquer. 80. Sitting awaiting the rebuild distributor, bonnet and finishing touches. 81. The bonnet fully bolted together (including polished+lacquered T-piece) and fitted. And after fitting the swinging drawbar, 9 hole bar, bonnet badge, rear numberplate, the mesh screen for the air cleaner on the dashboard and most importantly the potato sack on the seat she is finished. 82. 83. 84. 85. 86. 87.

Well, 1 year and 2 months later I have........ Not got a vast amount done. 63. The wheels had all of their rust pits filled with Isopon P38, Another coat of oxide primer was then applied (Any remaining rust pits that were missed can easily be spotted at this stage and filled),This was keyed, a coat of 2PK primer was applied, sanded, another coat of 2PK primer was applied and that left the wheel as you see it. 64. The front wheels and 2 back mudguards got the exact same treatment as the back wheels. 65. And 3 or 4 coats of 2PK stoneleigh grey was applied wet on wet leaving the wheels looking like this. I can say without doubt that this is the best use I have ever found for The Sun newspaper. 66. Front wheels and Mudguards after 3 to 4 coats. These parts de-masked and were left to harden for around a week. They were then fitted to the tractor resulting in something along the lines of.. 67. This. New wheel nuts all round on the wheels and new nuts/bolts all round on the mudguards. Nearing the finish but still far from done. 68. The next part to tackle was the Distributor. I had painted this previously thinking it was in good working order but it turns out I was very, very wrong. The (remains) of the bearing at the bottom is what came out of the distributor. This was replaced with a bearing off eBay. If anyone needs to replace the bearing on theirs the bearing I purchased was called LJ1/2-2RS Imperial sealed ball bearing. Total cost £1.96. 69. The swinging drawbar was next step. There were 2 cracks about 2'' long down the welds on the bottom of either side. These cracks were ground out and welded. The 2 tabs that can be seen sitting up on top of the drawbar were both broken off. 2 of these were made and welded onto the drawbar. After this a rather patchy coat of primer was applied. 70. The next and final part of the project was the bonnet. Now thankfully I had a very good, straight rust free bonnet to start with. The only things to sort were.. - A number of holes that were drilled around the sides of the bonnet top (These were welded up) - A damaged T piece (this is the aluminium part between/below the grilles). This was badly damaged around the starting handle hole. - A number of holes which were drilled into the T-piece. This was alloy welded by a local engineering works. - 3 damaged grille fins which were replaced. 71. This is the damaged to the T-piece. 72. And this is the repair. I made a template out of card, traced the template onto sheet aluminium. Shaped it, folded it and drilled it. Also can (or can't?) be seen is the holes that were drilled into the T-piece are now filled with weld and ground down. 73. The next step was to replace the damaged grille fins. 3 were heavily rusted so the grill was dismantled by opening each tab of every fin on one side of the grille. This allows you to pull one of the runners/grille sides off. From this I pulled out the damaged fins, Put the replacements in and reassembled it. 74. Reassembled and given a quick sand ready for oxide primer. 75. The entire bonnet was sent away for sandblasting and lets say it was either done on a monday morning or very late on a friday evening. After I got it back a good few hours were spent cleaning all the missed spots down with a angle grinder. The entire bonnet was given a go over with a vibrating sander to remove the harsh surface left by the sandblaster and it was then ready for oxide primer. 76. All the parts of the bonnet in oxide primer. That brings us up to date. I hope to have the tractor finished for mid April 2015 for the start of the show season. I think I said that in 2014 aswell.. And probably 2013 now that I think of it.
