It is. Quiet, comfortable, totally reliable and reasonably quick (would be a lot quicker if it didn't have that bloody Borg Warner autobox guzzling all its power). The only reason I don't use it every day is that it does 20 miles to a gallon of super unleaded, so it ain't cheap to run. I'd love an Amazon at some point - preferably an estate.

Ahhh you got that Mini for £310! Seems to be a bit of a bargain. Whats your other mini like?? Yup, I thought so. It was listed in the wrong category, which is about the only way you're going to get a bargain on the Bay these days. The Volvo 850 was the same - listed under spares so only made £165. The other Mini ain't bad considering - a few panels are manky and could do with replacing (N/S A panel, rear valance, door bottoms) but underneath is good and it drives well - it's only done about 40K from new, and I think it was an OK buy for £150. I was going to do it up but now I've got one which is already on the road (and a more desirable spec) I'm probably never going to get round to doing the Mayfair, so it's got to go really.

XM! Is it really bad? I have been pondering a a Citroen (part time) daily driver for some time, too long the peeps here are saying, I have settled on wanting a Xantia eventuualy , I ruled out the XM due to all the toys but i'm sure they are all the same! Oh and the MItsubishi, I know someone who is very tempted by that car, is it still for sale? and where are ya? The XM is actually quite nice to drive when it's behaving itself. It's just too electronically dependent for its own good, and French electronics are not the best in the world. To be fair it's probably no worse than a Safrane or a Scorpio, hydraulic suspension aside. Think the Xantia was probably the better buy though - I've had a couple and quite liked them. I bought the XM because I needed something big. The Mitsubishi's still for sale. I'm in Norwich.

where abouts are you mate? Sunny Norfolk. Reckon the Saab would drive pretty much anywhere though, lack of T&T aside. That's quite an impressive collection you've got yourself, if you don't mind me saying so. I'd love an S110R. Edit: 199 4 Skoda Rapid?

Nope. Although I do buy and sell a lot of cars. The difference is that dealers are in it for the money; I do it for "fun". I must have lost 20 grand on motors over the last ten years.

First off, I know the title of this thread doesn't fit the format, but if I posted a separate thread for each vehicle I'd be here all night... Hi there. For those who don't know me, I'm Wuvvum. I'm more often found over at autoshite.com or on eBay, but someone suggested that I post pictures of my fleet on here, so here goes. Not all of them are on topic for this site, but I'm sure they won't hurt. 1972 Volvo 164. This is the longest-standing car in my fleet - I've had it four years now, which is longer than I've ever kept any other car. Just had a bottom half repaint in one-coat gloss from the local hardware shop, believe it or not - I think it looks pretty good considering. 1980 VW Jetta 1.5 GLS auto. Supposed to have sold on eBay, but I haven't heard a peep from the supposed buyer, so it looks like it's going to be staying for a while longer. Had it about two and a half years now. 1966 HA Viva. This was my daily runaround until recently. Had it about a year and a half and it's been about the most reliable car I've ever owned. Only thing that's gone wrong with it was a snapped fan belt. 1985 Saab 99 GL. It's for sale for 80 quid if anyone wants it... 1971 Saab 99 1850. This was the car used by Motor magazine for their road test in 1971. Only really needs the brakes doing for the MoT, but I've been procrastinating as I hate doing brakes. Continuing the Saab theme, my 1994 9000 CSE LPT. Was my tow car for some time, currently needs front brake calipers stripping. 1938 Vauxhall 10. Hoping to have this on the road by the summer. One owner from new until 2005. My van. Renault Master 2.5D. Slow, ugly, huge. Useful for ferrying bikes around though. 1969 Triumph 1300. Temporarily taken over from the Viva as my runabout. Citroen XM estate. Temperamental French pile of curse word. Daihatsu Fourtrak 2.8 diesel. Slow but unstoppable - ideal for dragging old Mitsubishis home from Yorkshire. Mitsubishi Sigma estate. Currently for sale on the For Sale/Wanted forum. Rayton Fissore Magnum. The reason the Mitzi's for sale. Two tonnes of 4-wheel-drive, Iveco-powered, leather clad Italian rust. Mini Mayfair. Also for sale - got another Mini arriving next weekend. Technically this is still mine, but it got traveller'd a few weeks back, so I doubt I'll ever see it again. Honda Spacy 125. I'd wanted one of these ever since I saw a new one when I was about 6 - I thought it was the coolest thing ever with its pop-up headlight and digital dash. Kawasaki GPZ500S. Probably the best bike I've ever owned. Suzuki GSX250. Supposed to be great little bikes. I wouldn't know - I still haven't got round to riding it... And coming soon... Citroen CX Turbo. More temperamental French curse word, but at least this one's interesting. Mini Jet Black. Renault 25 TX Volvo 850 2.5 20V. That's all folks... At least for now.

Nice to see a saloon for a change after all the Del Boy replica vans that are around. I bought a saloon once about eight years ago. Hated the curse word thing. But then it still had its original 598cc engine so it was gutless as feck. Yours should be slightly nippier - the 848cc Reliants actually go quite well, and with the right gearing will pull close to the ton. Yours probably won't do anything like that (I wouldn't want to do anything like that in a Regal anyway), but it should be pretty quick off the line. There is actually a company that sells bolt-on supercharger kits for those engines - fit one of those and go out looking for Saxos to race...

Should be there - probably in something large and V8-powered, but if the weather's nice and I'm feeling adventurous maybe something older. Had been hoping to bring the 'Sud but the clutch still isn't done on that so it'll have to wait till next month.

I was still smirking about the Lexus incident when I got up this morning. ;D By the way, I can confirm that my Celsior is not limited to 112mph. And that it is almost frighteningly stable and serene at 120+ on a damp, poorly surfaced dual carriageway. I can see my driving license going the way of all flesh very quickly. Not sure if "Sorry officer, I had no idea I was going that fast, my speedometer only goes up to 112mph" would be very effective in getting me out of trouble...

The 121 ran out of T&T at the end of Feb. It doesn't have power steering but it's fairly light anyway as it's on 145x12 tyres and weighs about as much as an empty crisp packet. The Celsior is actually very dark green. I will try to get more pics of the Saab over the weekend - it's currently being stored by a mate of mine so I'll have to try and find a time when he's around. Should be able to arrange a viewing for next weekend though.

Oops, yeah, location would have been useful. I'm in Norwich. Rover's pretty good on fuel, especially on a run as it's so high-geard it's only doing just over 2000rpm at 70. I haven't done any long runs except the one to Kent and that was with a tonne and a half of trailer so probably not representative. I'd reckon you should get in the high 40s - low 50s on a run though.

Due to an impending house move I am now in the position of having to trim the size of my fleet substantially, from the current figure of 22 to something vaguely manageable. I have divided the fleet into "definite keepers", "definite sellers" and "not sure yets". Here, then, are the cars that fall into the second category. Toyota Celsior. I know there have been a few of these for sale on here recently, and this one's in Auto Trader tomorrow so might sell through that channel, but I thought I'd put it on here anyway. It's done 120,000km, it's T&T'd till July, and all the gadgets work apart from the usual aircon display and the J market stereo which will need replacing with a UK-spec LS400 item. This one has air suspension with height adjustment and it really is an extraordinarily smooth ride. It's also very tidy for its age. Those marks on the front bumper and grille are dirt, not stonechips - they came off straight away in the carwash. I'm after about £850 for it. Volvo 460 Turbo. I really do like this car, but I like my Saab 900 Turbo even more, and I can't keep both. This is a true Q-car - looks like any other Volvo 460 as seen trundling along at 43mph on an A-road near you, but floor the throttle and it goes like poo off a spade. This one was actually owned by an old boy, which means that the mileage is pretty low. It's in good nick for its age, although not immaculate. The tyres are nearly new. Only problems I've found are clicky CV joints on lock and the clutch is nearing the end of its useful life, although it can still handle full throttle acceleration for the moment. T&T are out but I can't see anything obvious apart from maybe CV joints and reattaching the passenger door mirror which was knocked off by kids. Gotta be worth £150? No it's not a Kia Pride. It's a Mazda 121, and it's a chuffing brilliant little car, completely reliable, pretty economical and bloody quick. I (and drivers of vehicles such as BMW's 318i, Audi's A4 1.8 and Citroën's Saxo VTR) have been surprised on many an occasion by the acceleration of this little thing. And it will buzz along at the ton quite happily. It also turns on a sixpence. Unfortunately it needs a few jobs doing for its test (handbrake, exhaust downpipe blowing, and the windscreen is cracked down near the tax disc, although you might get away with this if you move the tax disc holder across to cover it) which I haven't got the time to do, and it's not really worth paying someone to do them on a car like this. So if anyone wants it for £75 they can come & drive it away. Mazda MX3. This is a 1.8-litre V6 which I bought on a second chance offer last month just to see what MX3s are like. It drives nicely and the engine is sweet - it had a bit of a water leak when I bought it and needed topping up every 50 miles or so, but this seems to have been cured now. It's had a bit of heat damage to the nearside corner of the rear bumper which has been rather clumsily repaired, but other than that it's a tidy enough little car, and everything seems to work except the sunroof which appears to be stuck. It really is a fun little thing to drive and amazingly agile, but I can't see myself using it often enough to justify paying full whack road tax on it. The MoT is just out but it's taxed till the end of this month. £200 anyone? This one's a bit of a wrench to part with. It's a 1979 900 Turbo - one of the very first. Externally there are a few bits that are incorrect for its year (the tailgate for one, the spoiler for another) but the blue interior is pure '70s, and being an early car it has windy windows and a 4-speed 'box. I like it a lot and would love to keep it if I had the space but the fact is that my G-reg T16S is a far more useable car so this one ends up just sitting around. Faults that I can think of are a noisy NSF wheel bearing and a bit of a leak from the sunroof when it rains hard. Bodywork is very good - there's a couple of scratches and a slight dent on the NSF door, but no rot that I've found. It's running on metric tyres, two of which are good, one is OK and one will need replacing fairly soon. The tax is out but it's still tested till August. This is a bit of a rare beast and I'd like to see £600 for it at least. Don't know if this would be of any interest to people on here, but it's a bit unusual being an old shape 825D - there were very few diesels made before the facelift. This one's done 200K and is a bit rough round the edges but still does its thing and happily dragged my 1977 Alfasud (definitely in the "keepers" pile) back from Kent last month without breaking a sweat. These old VM diesels will supposedly run on veg oil quite happily too. Again, tax is out but it's tested till September. And it does have four alloys, it's running on the spare in the pic which is a steel but the other alloy is OK and is ready to be swapped over. I'm looking for offers around £200-ish. There may be more coming up for sale in the next month or so, so watch this space...

I was the second highest bidder on this when it was on the Bay. I saw it'd sold to a 0 feedback bidder and held on for a while in case I got a second chance offer, but none was forthcoming so I went and bought an Iveco camper van instead. Bummer. If I still had the money I'd be very interested.

Mine seems to have had the limiter removed - it certainly keeps accelerating way beyond the top of the speedo. From what the seller told me it's fairly straightforward to do. My cruise is still limited though - it seems to work up to around 117 km/h - which is annoying as without the cruise the speed can very quickly run away with you, but in a car like that you don't really want to be trundling along in the slow lane. Good luck with the sale - if it had been on three weeks ago when I was still looking for one I would have had a punt.

Due to too many old Renaults (four at the moment plus the possibility of another arrival in the next few weeks) and the fact that I've only used it three times since I've bought it, I'm selling my Renault 9 Boston. It's a special edition based, I think, on the GTL, which means it has a 1397cc engine and a 5-speed box. As far as I can see the only extras it has over the GTL are a pop-up sunroof, colour coded bumpers & mirrors and a Turbo steering wheel. I bought it on a bit of a whim before Christmas - I had some vague idea about using bits off it to get my Turbo back on the road sooner, but it's really much too good for that. I bought it off an old boy who'd just retired from working at a Renault dealership, so he'd had all the maintenance done properly during his ten-year ownership and it shows - the car feels tighter than any 22-year-old Renault has any right to. It's tested till the end of May. Everything works apart from the stereo (which needs a code), and the heater is brilliant. The only negatives I can think of (bearing in mind that it's 22 years old and therefore has some wear and tear) are that the battery is getting towards the end of its useful life (fine if the car's used constantly, but loses its charge if sat around for a few days) and there's a bit of a whine at speed which could be a wheel bearing. Oh,m and the perspex outer cover for the nsf indicator is missing, but the inner cover's still there so won't be an MoT issue. The car's in Norwich, but would drive anywhere (I bought it from North Oxfordshire and drove it back from there without missing a beat). Gotta be worth £150?
