Bitching and infighting at Leeds cruise, surely not 🤣 I assume it's because it now has to have a organiser/name to it to satisfy the operators of the services. When it was at BnQ there was never anybody organising it, everybody just knew it was 2nd Saturday. It was only when the police stuck the section 59 order on Leeds that problems started.

Gotta love Yankee licensing where they’ll sign one of these over to you on a normal car license. Not the first time I’ve driven something like this though, just been a while. It does amaze me when you see some of the rigs people use owner there. No wonder road deaths and accidents are so high.

Take a guess whose Twingo that is... Rustival looked great, sadly I couldn't fit it in my schedule this year. Thanks for the photos! No way. That's funny.

S2000s are great but a lot of the cheaper ones are getting a bit tired now. Personally as a dream buy I'd contact Blown_Imp on here and do a deal on his Celica GT4. It's a really impressively specced car and not that expensive.

I'm still cracking on through my niggle list on the Carlton. Front brakes were advised for corrosion on the last 2 or 3 MOT's so I got some new discs and pads on last weekend. Definitely got their money's worth. Been to a couple of car related local meets but I've put those in separate threads. Other people actually took photos of my car. I've put a few thousand miles on it now and ironed most of the niggles out, and it's proved to be mostly reliable, so in the next couple of weeks I'm gonna go back to using the Jazz and get the Carlton up on the drive and do the couple of bits of welding needed, then suspension/wheels/paint/sound system ready for the Weekender.

That is fantastic! It really is. My mate Al bought it from the builder, I'm sure I've seen a build thread on this forum. Full chassis, 300+bhp Cossie, independent suspension front and rear etc. Apparently the guy is a friend of the Beardmore's and it really shows, and Al isn't a guy who doesn't "use the potential" on the road.

Must have been about 10 years ago now that I was discussing the potential of Mk1 Twingo's low on 3 spokes with Bruce from Area 52. That looks exactly as good as I had in my head.

Some neat stuff and you're not wrong about the infighting. What was going on there was the worst kind of "car guy mentality" stuff. Hopefully thats all behind it now and folks can get on with having a proper car meet and no hassles. Any more photos of that Fury? I do like that. I assume it was all through social media rather than in person? I haven't, took a quick snap as I was leaving. Looks tough though, don't often see that era Mopar in bright red.

That looks excellent, like on of the local radio station giveaway/DJ cars.

There are definitely some left, but as with most Japanese stuff of that era probably no more than a handful. There is definitely a minimum of 2, as a guy I know in Bradford has a saloon and a estate.

Oh ffs, in the land of Compomotive why on earth would you want an Orbital? hahahaha Joking, at this moment I wouldn't try to bring anything like this on my luggage, but I can certainly help you find something here and send it to you by courier or some other time I enter the country, just let me know! I've been a fan of rebaixados style cars for a long time, and we don't really have anything similar to Orbital wheels over here. I've tried learning Portuguese so I can understand things more but I can barely speak English properly so it's not doing well lol

I'm from nowhere near Oxford so can't really help - but have you got room in your hand luggage for a set of 18" Orbital wheels in 5 x 110 pattern?

I've had the same happen. I've also had it happen with a torch on long pipe from a large butane cylinder when the internal coupling started leaking.
Unexpected fire definitely still sparks some sort of primeval fear reaction though.

I've always seen them called Pro Stock style wings. AFAIK as part of the rules they aren't allowed to be higher than the rear window line. More for stability than down force afaik.

Sorry for the non car related post - but how bad is it, and what sort of recovery time are you looking at? The doctors reckoned mine would need doing by 30, after smashing it as a teenager. I'm 38 now and it's properly knackered, but putting off doing anything about it as I assume the recovery time is months rather than a week or 2.
