Very cool project! Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds!
Can you just throw boost at these stock engines non-turbo engines, or do they need built to take it?

So the F100 is still in pieces, it is scheduled some time next weekend, hopefully get all the new gaskets in it, new paint and if the stars align, get it back in the truck! But this weekend saw some tinker time. Saturday was a quick visit to the workshop to service a mates land rover, but this meant as the Maverick had to get out the way, it only made sense to take it for a run to blow some cobwebs out... Still running and driving absolutely faultlessly. Just snapped a quick pic whilst it was sat out the way... Land Rover service went well, surprisingly easy to work on a massive vehicle compared to my wife's Cooper S we serviced a few weeks back which was insane to work on. Sunday Funday then came round. A few of us decided to head to a Silverstone Social meet for some coffee and a run out, it just so happened we all turned up in trucks, wasn't planned at all, but did make us chuckle! 25 years apart on the two Fords. Then there was some Ford vs Chevy banter as always... Can't remember what year his truck is, but quite a bit newer than the F150, looks are really deceptive, the F150 looks smaller, but is actually a bit bigger. Then we thought we would line them all up like children... Wife snapped a pic of doggo running after me. Ranchero took point, smallest first, but then we cocked up the order slightly haha 26 years between these two Fords... Both have 351 motors though! Doggo wasn't quite sure what we were up to and wanted to know why mummy wasn't in the truck... Then the line up, although not the full line up, as before my wife could walk to the front to get pics, a few cars pulled in and we had to get out the way haha but here is 3 out of the four... Chevy caught in a Ford sandwich. And that about sums up the weekends activities! More F100 action next weekend

Ahhh good man! The Offspring are a top band of mine too! If you come down to the Retro Rides Goodwood weekend thingy, we need to 100% grab a couple beers I've been following that build too, Wayne does some mega work and can't wait to see the diner up and running, will have to get them both together and start selling some beers out the back of yours or something haha

Absolutely mega... As always!
Is that a silhouette of the Offspring conspiracy of one logo cut out of the titanium brackets?

Should be a fun project, interesting logistical challenges with storage and what not too.

Well, more photos it is! I was mainly taking these as a reference to where things came from and how some of the pipe work and wiring was routed. To kick things off, this is where we started: Then as if by magic, the motor was gone! the motor came out without much of a fight really, which was quite nice, the only snag was one of the gearbox/motor dowels was a little stuck, but with some gentle persuasion this came loose and we were done. The truck then went outside and the engine bay got steam cleaned and is now ready for scuffing up and painting. The plan is to paint the bay inc the firewall up to the scuttle panel satin black, which should then hopefully make the motor the centre piece of the engine bay. All the metal work is in great condition, no rust to worry about whatsoever which is really nice! Shame the cab floor and bed aren't the same haha they are going to need some work, which is next on the project list once the motor is back in the hole.

So the Maverick just works at the moment, no issues, fires up on the button, drives nice and tight, shifts well. All round I am just mega happy with it. I need to make a new bracket for the gearbox kick down, but other than that, it is just cosmetics! So, that means it is time to get distracted with other things, the main one being the F100. It needed the motor pulling and change the rear main seal along with all the engine gaskets. Whilst it is out, the chassis and engine bay will get painted up and then pop the freshened up motor back in the hole. Will likely paint the engine too. Was hoping the rear main seal could be done without taking the motor apart, nope, the crank has to come out to fit it... So that'll be a laugh. Whilst steam cleaning the motor it became obvious the freeze plugs had been gunked up to hold the coolant in, so after a light prod, two of them had large holes in, so they will get replaced too! I took a load of photos, but they are fairly boring, so here is a close up shot with the truck hiding in the background! I love patina, and these valve covers look amazing as is, but with the direction the truck is going, they will get painted. At one point a few mates swung by and the farm turned in to a mini car show! At which point we got distracted chatting and poking at cars and I forgot to take any other photos!

Oh yes, strong choice. They are going to look absolutely spot on! Can't wait to see the update after the weekend.
So happy I get to enjoy this van vicariously through this forum and yourself, as I fell in love with the looks of it when it was up for grabs.

To be honest, it is absolutely fantastic to hear that you have been having a mega time in it!
In terms of what direction to take it, I can't be of any help at all, I would be exactly the same...
If it works, don't break it, but then it's fun to mess with stuff, but that might then mean it breaks... hmmm haha
Just keep on keeping on, i'm sure the answer will come at some point!
In the meantime, have you figured out a way to rig up a camera to capture some seat time video?

Yeah would be nice to see that done with some dimple dies, then it adds some strength too, although that piece isn't exactly going to be stressed where it is.
Looks cool, nice to see some progress on this.

It has 295 tyres all the way round! Yes, on the front too! But I can report it does rotate the rear tyres when required. I imagine if it was stock it wouldn't manage it, as these are lazy smog era motors, but this does have a blower fitted for a little more oooompf, but not much more oooompf, just a little more than stock as its a low boost unit. Needs a proper tidy up on the outside and in, needs a good service as it has been fairly unloved but overall after a couple drives i'm fairly happy with the purchase.

Love your car, and the others shown too but sorry, loving your dog most, We have a similarly coloured Staffy who lives to be loved, 😁😁 Nigel I respect this. I love our dog more too haha Ahh that's so awesome, what is amazing is as I type this, Ty is lying on the sofa next to me almost exactly like that! Everyone thinks Ty is just a massive Staffy, as he has that proper teddy bear look to him, he's an American Bulldog/Cane Corso cross. Such a big softy. Yours looks mega! Love the brindle markings. #BrindleBros

What I need in my life is more distractions... So, another one has turned up. Welcome my new 'modern classic' to the collection. Everyone needs a shop truck right? How else was I meant to get the Maverick interior to the trimmers when the time comes? The 69 F100? Na that is going under the knife soon. My toys means more problems, but i'll spend some seat time in the F150 before figuring out what those niggles will be though! I'll sprinkle some updates in here on it from time to time, but it's not meant to be a project this one...

I've been round and round various insurance companies looking for a decent policy on my recently acquired F150, which seemed to be a challenge for most to insure it. Spotted this forum thread earlier this week, gave them a buzz and happy to report it is now insured with Classic Line.
Great customer service and the policy is tailored perfectly to my needs and complements an imported and modified vehicle well.
They will be getting the business for the Maverick and F100 when their renewal is due!
