It seems a nice little car to be fair guys, the previous owner stopped driving it as he had inherited a newer hatchback to run around in so this just sat on his driveway. The boy, Cameron, not gavin 😁, will spend time over the weekend giving it a thorough clean, ill get more pics then

So, he's 13, likes cars and is always showing an interest / wants to help when I'm tinkering in the garage so I've picked up this for him 1 owner from new (retired fella), 40k miles and zero modifications. It wants a bit of attention in places but thats the whole point, its going to be his project and learning curve. Hope you like.

I present this offering, the chrome steel wheels from a golf mk2 chrome country. Only available on the chrome editions and I think only 500 chrome editions made so its unlikely I'll find a set in the local breakers.

These recently arrived, should be more comfy than the super harsh suspension currently fitted

W8 passat ticks all the right boxes for your brief. 270ish bhp, 4l petrol 4 motion, looks pretty much like any other passat so counts as a sleeper and available as an estate so you can use it to move house. don't forget to post up the pics when you have bought one.

The golf was registered in Feb 83 so its approaching exemption, cynical me reckons that should the car not have a valid mot (regardless of exemption) then an insurance company would use that as leverage for a lower payout if it were to be crashed/stolen. So mine is still going in every year for its mot.

Things have been very quiet on the mk1 front as I've been mega busy on the house, new plumbing, electrics, plastering, carpentry, kitchen, an extension and porch later to keep Mrs mk1 happy but I'm nearly done, i should be back to tinkering with the car again soon. I have bought myself a pair of these cobra seats for a bit of a bargain that will get re-trimmed with the red stripe cloth so they don't look too out of place New suspension is getting ordered in the next couple of weeks too. First job though is to remove the aftermarket fuel tank and fit the very good genuine one i picked up a while ago, that'll fix the fuel starvation when cornering issue.

A mid 90's lwb 2.4 petrol frontera, I wouldnt wish one of those piles of depression on my worst enemy.
Also an 85 Toyota mr2, I can't believe these are all bad, id like to believe these are actually pretty decent but the one I had was pure garbage.

Had a similar one on bookface for a g60 corrado, been stood for a while but perfect for what I wanted, the ad was up for 15 minutes and no contact from seller after various messages, was about a mile away too so should have been perfect.
If you were a seller and received a message along the lines of, 'that looks perfect for what I need, send me your address and I'll be with you in 10 mins with the asking price' how can that not be ideal?

Reckon that you can pick up a vw eos within budget, i don't know the first thing about them though. Too new and a bit boring, for me anyway. Thanks for the idea though 👍 Fair enough, the Mrs has a diesel golf of the same era and while it serves its purpose really well, its very dull so I'd agree on it likely boring.

A mate of mine had an lt 15 or so years ago, its was a gardeners truck but he chopped the back up to turn it into beavertail recovery truck, it was noisy, slow and very bouncey but i have lots of fond memories fetching various mk1 golfs from around the country with it. That one was also sold on due to tinworm. I'm really glad you have persisted with your one, will be a fantastic truck once finished and will no doubt give you many years of happy practicality.

Maybe a bit too wide but the style has mk1 golf with a berg cup arch kit fitted written all over it

Low oil pressure when warm was down to a worn crank (typically the only think that wasnt removed during the engine rebuild) so a regrind and more new shells later and its as good as gold. I've picked up a carbon roof now too. The next job is to change the suspension as these spax ones are too firm, I do t want it any lower but I'd like to keep my fillings

Cheers, it genuinely has been a brilliant car, I bought it needing a clutch so thats the only thing I've had to do to it apart from routine bits and it's actually nicer to drive than my modernish runaround. Someone is coming round later on so its likely to be gone today.

A6 tdi, pd engine, manual, 12 months mot, towbar, roof bars, Decent bit of budget motoring. I've had it a couple of years now and it's been as good as gold, dependable old barge. I had planned to keep this as a tip run car as its pretty big but the Mrs has laid down the law and 4 cars is too many for me so unfortunately it has to go. It does need the drivers side window regulator replacing as its broken but I do have a nice new one you can have (I'll most likely change it over the weekend if its still here) There you have it, practical old boat for £500 ono
