Before I put the picture in here, let me explain why I did what I did for the contest. Bosozoku is awesome and clumsy and terrible all at once so I needed a suitable base vehicle, something different but something that ideally I'd found out about here on RR. Therefore, I give you the Boso Standard Atlas camper. I HAVE NO REGRETS! ;D p.s. original artwork is for sale, £10 posted.

Looks like something The Beatles would roll up in during the Yellow Submarine era. I love it.

^^ Ah now I know who does the drawings in those magazines OK so I finished this a few days ago but never got round to completing the text and background etc. Pretty sure were due for a custom van revival soon... And here is my Bosozoku competition entry. Its a Mercedes W123. Its a very mild boso, but I think it would look pretty good on UK streets... I also did an even milder version, because I liked how it looked before I added the yellow... I would quite happilly drive this I think! I enter the yellow one for now... doubt ill come up with anything else before then. I'm up against some pretty extreme competition, I think my poor merc might be a bit too mild!

Could do with a mirror on the drivers side mate Id loose the headlight covers and for some reason want to see what it would look like with curb feelers?! (why i don't know lol) But other than that like you say in black form with polished wheels would make a lovely car i would own. Is that more 'shakotan' styling? I get confused!

Ah Kris, i knew someone would notice the mirror - and it had to be you didnt it! I did think about that... but it looked so much better on the other side... in hindsight i could have just drawn the dash the other way round... I think with curb feelers and polished wheels it would start to get a lowrider look - theres been a few lowrider mercs of this era already, they do look pretty good! And yeah i think shakotan is a milder boso look... dunno what the actual definition of each term has to be, its just a look innit? Ah well, ill enter it into the comp and see what happens lol. Actually got nothing on the (virtual) drawing board right now... need to start something... yeah while everyone is having fun at car shows this weekend I'm sat at home drawing

Jowey: Alfasud or the Rover 200 gets my vote.
