Back in the early 90's a couple of young engineers saw the potential of old Alfasud / Alfa 33 which rusted away to reveal some very useful running gear. They came up with a kitcar they named the Minari Clubsport.  Quirky, but worthy. They sold about a dozen, then updated it and the new model was the Minari Roadsport.  Much prettier, but it didn't seem to take off in the same way as the Quantum 2+2, but sold some more. Then it went away, for several years, and came back as something rather more potent : still with boxer-engine, but now with the entire 4WD gear from Subara Impreza. ;D I've never seen one in the flesh, but this must go fairly well     I still don't understand why it hasn't taken off in a bigger way. |

IIRC both the Minari and the Quantum were produced in the same area of South Staffs.

Always thought the Minari a pretty little thing. And still available: www.peninsulasportscars.co.uk/pages/minari.aspx(Not sure sure about their 'supersnake' though!) Wasn't a (the?) Murtaya demonstrator stolen and recovered a couple of years ago? Seen a couple of demonstrators, but are there any customer cars? |

Certainly, an interesting car. I think the Quantum was more succesfull, because it was: A) Ford based. B) a little bit more practical However, more people saw the attraction of the AlfaSUD as a kit car donor. There is the Pelland  The Raffo Tipo 12  How about a midengined Clan?  |

The Murtaya is made close to here, there's a very long thread on Pistonheads about it and the problems that owners have had getting working examples on the road.
