	In other news, I have recently decided to start collecting plates with a slightly more defined theme. So Disabled, Disabled Vet, National Guard, Fire dept, Police etc is what I will concentrate on, while still collecting random plates that appeal to me. These landed today from a real neat trade I made with a Texan. Plates came from his Grandfather. Really pleased with these. Included is my first ever "dealer plate" another one of those silly things I have always wanted. The rest of the plates fall straight into my specialized collecting. Before I forget, another surprise I got was this Intercourse item, and a pair of return to sender key tags. All of these went up today, also did some rearranging. Now I still just need a truck to go with it.

	Went to Surrey Street Rodders Wheels Day today. Decided impulsively to go when we got up this morning, and I can honestly say, one of the nicest days out in a long time. We dressed and wrapped up warm, so it was a good day. I managed to find some signs, badges and a really special numberplate. It came off a Ford Escort in Belgium that had belonged to a British soldier stationed there, hence the strange configuration. The seller had the fairest prices I have seen in a long time. The plate, large bus stop and badges all cost me only £6.00 I also managed to find a couple of 12 meter rolls of stick on pinstripe at £1.00 each. A great day out, photos are uploading, postin later.

	I thought it would fit in with the timing of the RR to add in some of the plates I was given as presents by Knucklhead, Tiger8 and BigDom for my garage. Thanks a million guys, I was really blown away at the time by all the generosity of everyone, and still sit here grinning madly. The plates have found their way, as many do, for various reasons to various places about my shged and garage. The WD GRIZZ plate is on the Woodwork shed door...... Woodwork Department as well as WildDog Grizz The GRIZZ EC plate is next to the new shelf with all the screw drivers, but specifically where I can enjoy it, and where it covers some of the knife blades hanging there. And of course the GSPOT EC plate found its way to where people will note it..... I have also received a load of traded and gifted plates from the USA while away,, and typically guys put a return address and possibly a real name, but never a note of forum name. Anyway, I am sure they will ask at some point if I received their plates..... then I can say a formal thank you. Right now is is 12.30 and I need to go lay some bricks.# Later Dudes.

	When I came back from my bike trip through South Africa, I was greeted by a bunch of parcels from the USA. 	These are our three NC one is from my wife's dad not sure how he got it. California one I got while working out there from a barmaids mum who was born in the UK while her dad was in the Navy And the Indiana one from a local secondhand shop cos it's got our birth years on the tags. And a close up of the bullet hole in the Cali one

	Nice collection. I have a few yank plates and did until I starting sorting my garage out have the hung in the garage although never got a very good pic. Heres the best I can find. I'll get a pic of the collection later.

	Mate Martin will be around later for pizza, porn and probing my welder with his tester. Hopefully he will find all is fine. Looking forward to the birthday prezzie he got his boss to bring back from Thailand. When I went there a few years ago, I could not get a plate. He had some new ones made, and the used one comes from his Ford Escort he is having rebuilt in Thailand. Nice addition to my collection.

	Went to NSRA Swapmeet today, got a call from (Gary) who collects wooden hotel and commercial clothes hangers..... he had me a Liberian plate. I also managed to buy a Belgian plate and got an old English plate for trading.

	Great surprise when I got home today. Post man was here.... Envelope from Georgia containing some number plates for my collection. Specialist plate Historic Automobile, and also the Bahamas plate. BUT THE BEST WAS TO COME OUT THE ENVELOPE. An original December 1965 Chevy C10 brochure from Todd Scott. Thanks Buddy !!

	Got two new, unused fire hoses and reels recently, to use in the Reproduction petrol pump I have started to build. Only needed part of one. Offered on out free of charge on a couple of UK forums, and got a reply from Romania..... Yes, really. Anyway, mentioned that I collected plates from around the world, and Mike replied that he worked in the truck industry, and would have a look. These arrived in the post yesterday. Romania has a system where the black on white plate takes a while to be issued, but if you are impatient, you can get a red on white temporary plate issued, these need to be returned to the government it seems..... I have one. The green plate is from Austria, and has been folded in half, presumably to discard, but it is mine now. I think it may be an "export" plate. Hopefully someone who knows will clarify for us.

	I thought I was the only one daft enough to screw my old number plates to the garage rafters. But you my friend have taken things to a new level. I went to Aruba a couple of years back and brought a couple of plates back. Will dig out a pic tomorrow.

	There is a shop here in Eindhoven that sells all sorts of odds and sods, and the last time I was there they had a big box full of US plates, still in their original envelopes, seemingly never issued. Think they are from the 70's. Are they of any interest to you? any idea of value? I shall try and call in one afternoon this week, get some pictures and see what they are asking for them.

Hi Sam Thank you for the reply. I tend to not pay much for plates, I prefer to trade or swop. However, the one above cost 50p at bootfair and when I do buy American I set a top limit of £1.00 for random plates. I tend to only look for specialist American plates now, like disabled, military or special editions or states I do not have yet.
