Now then, I'm still running my tank 405 and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on some ready made/mixed bio diesel, chipfat, veg oil for it? I only live in a flat so have no space to make my own mix. Cheers in advance  |

Go to your local wholesalers Bookers/ Costca/ Macro and buy new veg oil at about £1 a litre or look out for it on special in Tesco - usually about 10l £10
Bio isn't mixed anything its made don't beleive anyone who tells you its vegoil mixed with anything else like turps/kero/petrol its not...

My local farmfoods are selling veg oil at £9.95 for 10L`s. And makro sell it at £19.95 for 20L`s. Ive just seen on ebay a place in Hull selling bio for quid alitre but theres no info in the listing or how much they have.

There's also place in Hull sells IBC's (1000l) of veg oil from memory they are by far the cheapest place for new oil 70 or 80p from memory

I get mine from Tesco's as that works out the cheapest at £1 litre plus taking in to account we get it delivered with the groceries and we get club points. I also have a Bookers cash and carry card where it is £19,25 but when you get to the counter they add VAT
If anyones knows if I can get ready mixed bio or cheaper oil in the Lowestoft/ Great Yarmouth area please let me know

So should I just pour the veg oil straight in the tank? Or mix with some standard diesel?

If you have a Bosch pump you can more or less run 100% in the summer. At the moment I'm mixing mine about 70% veg/sunflower oil to 30% diesel as my car seems to like it. Saying that if I was to go on a long journey tomorrow and my tank needed filling I would fill up 100% veg oil as there would be enough mixed fuel in fuel lines/filter etc to get the car started and warm.
If I was you I would start off 50/50 and if it runs well up the veg oil. Once started I would keep a new fuel filter in the boot and then change it after about 1k because veg/ sunflower oil is more sticky than diesel and will drag any curse word in your tank /fuel lines to the filter possibly causing it to block. Yes just pour it in and it will feel weird the first time you do it, you get some odd looks

well ive got about 60% diesel to 40% veg oil in at the mo to test it out and so far so good. Smells good to haha. going to get more veg oil from bookers hopefully at the weekend
