It's only when you get as low as mine that you start interfacing with the road surface. Mine is roughly -120mm and I still have 15mm or so under the engine crossmember. bnptrs I love this 940 of yours. After RRG I'm going to start tidying mine up in earnest aiming to get its something like this (but lower). Aye. I've seen these ran with virtually no springs and s have clearance underneath, it's just the overhang which catches you out. And thanks! No real plans to go lower on this, will make some coilovers eventually but that's more for handling purposes. Looking clean:

The great thing about lowering these cars is that you don't have to come down much for them to look great as they are long. The roof isn't particularly tall as standard compared to newer cars so dropping them looks amazing.

Here's mine before lowering next to my Focus, still lower because of the low roof. I'll have to take an updated photo as the difference is huge now.

A mate of mine was taking the mick out of me a little for wanting a "gigantic" 940 estate. I compared the stats to his new Passat estate and found the 940 is only 10cm longer IIRC but even better the turning circle is significantly smaller as its RWD. I was told by a lady who had one that it was a great town car as the turning circle is small and you can see all the corners of the car!

Took a photo earlier just for you - here's it lowered next to my focus, shows the odd proportions of the old wagon Did some little finishing jobs today: Blew wheels over to cover some of the chips, they're not in great condition but are better. Re painted the calipers: Wheels are looking a bit better: I also re-attached the doorstrip and fixed the rear exhaust hanger but no photos!

Great pics for those of us who couldn't make it. Looks like a good setting. At first, I thought that column of cloud was related to your wheels spinning up the hill!

Oh man did this sound amazing going up the hill! Thanks! I've yet to hear it in person being driven hard and have only seen one video, hopefully a few more surface soon as there was plenty of cameras especially at the top

I've found my shopping list for the 940 growing since the gathering, more power being a big requirement over winter.
Yours looked fantastic both on the campsite and the hill. I also have a pic or two of that burnout that I'll bosh in here later.

Looking forward to the pictures, so many people on the hill and at the start line (especially when I did that big burnout on my last run) yet I've found barely any photos and one video so far

That burnout picture is epic - if that was my car I'd be framing that!

Found this today, quite a nice upgrade guide with detail and obviously some experience in their too! Might be useful. www.brickboard.com/PERFORMANCE/volvo/1167444/staged_engine_modifications_turbo_b23_b230_modification.htmlStill saving up for my 940, had enough cash earlier this year but as usual something cropped up to take it away... My wife is getting so bored of me talking about it she is now pestering me to buy one so I'll shut up. I'm just a bit nervous as I can do basic maintenance (done pads and discs/calipers service items etc) and basic electrical stuff on cars and I think I'd be ok with interior stuff but anything major I'm scared of.

You'll be fine. 940s are of the mechanical age where carbs etc were just phasing out so it's simple electronic ignition. These engines are non interference 8V in rear wheel drive layout so everything's relatively easy to get to and simple as you like to work on. I'm no mechanic, all entirely self taught and my last 940 was my first turbo car, before then I only knew NA so just get stuck in!
