Not sure why but Hyundia coupes seem to have been getting my attention lately and I don't recall ever seeing one that was less than stock or a Halfords boy racer special. I think the ones that have been getting my attention are the 2nd gen ones like this picture I lifted from wikipedia, although i'm sure the ones I've been seeing look different at the front end. Can anybody photoshop one of these into a 70's muscle car/ production racer look (with slot mags ) Anything I should be aware of looking at the older end of the market and probably rock bottom price wise? Many thanks

I don't know much about them but I've got a feeling the second gen did get a later facelift front end which is the ones you've seen.
Or it could be a top end model that had a different front.
Either way I agree that I've only seen standard ones and OTT modified ones too.

Be better off with a 406 Coupe if you ask me. Dull is an understatement with the 2.7 (which is actually a van motor) and they don't handle all that well.
You could try a GNX look, but I don't think it would work very well.

The car above is a Gen 3 - came out in 2004. This had a face lift late 2005 with new front and rear lights and a restyled front bumper; this is the Gen 3.5. The earlier ones (Gen 1 with the restyled quad headlight Gen 2) are very similar chassis to the Gen 3 (i think the Gen 2 had the same chassis as the Gen 3) and came with a 1.6 or 2.0 engine. However the Gen 3 had 1.6, 2.0 or the 2.7 V6. After 2007 the Coupe was restyled again into the SIII, and later the TSIII (limited edition; basically tarty bits for the run out model with red stitching on the leather seats and suchlike). The Gen 3, Gen 3.5 and SIII were all the same underneath; same engines, same chassis. You do get a lot of car for the money - i bought one last July; V6 Gen 3. Cruise control, climate control, leather, heated mirrors etc... and although the V6 only had 165bhp, it had plenty of torque so there was never a hunt for lower gears. Sadly it got written off by a numpty in an uninsured Audi TT a week ago Highly recommended, and a very underrated car (as people think of things like the Pony and i10 when they hear Hyundai) ...

I'd be looking at an Alfa GTV instead...

Have a mk1 Scoupe Turbo And a Mk 2 F2 evolution Pretty cars, I'm sure with the right mods it could stand out, set of 7" x 16 torque thrusts, lowered, subtle mods, theres your muscle Hyundai
