I've had this a few days now, but I haven't put a thread up yet. 'Meryl' is a 2.8 straight 6 automatic, it's not the fastest thing in the world, but it's unbelievably comfy, and by far the nicest car I've driven (I drive brand new Merc's and Beemer's for a living)! The interior is immaculate, and the bodywork isn't far off, there's a few little bits that need sorting, but they're not massively noticeable! I'll stop talking and show some pictures off.. My first 'modification' was a set of LED sidelights, which look 100x better than the originals! And I left a deposit on some new shoes... Genuine AMG Staggered 17'', fully polished! And that's about it for now, I need to weigh my options up on getting it to sit nice on the wheels, possibly springs, possibly hydro's.... we'll see! Thanks for looking!

My goodness me that is utterly superb...
To find a W126 as early as this is very rare so whatever you do keep it simple!!!
I'm sure you've got some great plans for this and looking at what you've done already I can see that this is going to look stunning...
Brilliant.

Wow! That looks beautiful! Like the look of it and the condition is amazing. Great find! Was it the archetypal "One owner from new" car?

Thanks for the positive comments lads! It's actually had 5 former owners, which, going off the condition, is very hard to believe! The mods are going to be kept simple, everything I do is going to be reversible, I'm only 21, but I've messed about with enough cars now, this one's one of the best I've had, so it's not getting ruined! I've also been told it's mega, mega rare with it having wind down windows.

Oh that is absolutely fantastic. Personally I love W126s on the Mexican Hats but then I like tyres with sidewalls. Good luck with her.

Well it's pay day today, so I'll be paying for the wheels, just need to rake some money up for tyres now! I've also spent a small fortune on a selection of detailing products for it (along with some stuff I already have!), I can't wait to get it cleaned up and looking lovely again!

It's unreal mate, I have a Mk1 Granada Ghia too and the difference is uncanny! I genuinely thought the Granada was comfy till I drove this!

What a beauty. If it was me I'd stick with the original wheels, however... It ain't! What is the rot situation like?

what a peach! I don't know if you can still get a set made but all I would want on that would be number plates with the period correct size (larger) letters. other than that its perfect.

Thanks again for all the comments! There's no rot on it at all, it's all solid! I've been given a good offer on it... I really don't want to get rid, but it's massively tempting...
