Yes, I remember the Cav, iirc, when we were first given the job it wasn't burnt, and when we got there it was down an embankement, and had been burnt so we had to back with some extra equipment.
We are still busy around the Maesteg area for the Police!
I have seen a couple of Astra GTE's about recently, don't see any for years, and there's a few about now!
I'm an E30 man myself, though out of the 3 I have, none are currently on the road! My daily is an E36 touring, or an E39 530i sport touring.
May remember seeing my E30 M3 around Maesteg, it was a white G plate one. Sold that about 3 years ago, best car I've owned.
The place where those cars are burnt out is not far from where your car was recovered from! I will PM you some google earth co-ordinates for where they were, not been up there for a few years now. Just looking on google earth, I can see 3 burn outs on there!
I would love the go up to the blue pool when it's low or nearing empty, would be very interesting...

Just to keep the thread in the right direction...! Both the above cars were owned by the same person! Seat had been totally submerged when the tide was in, scooby was over the headlights, forgot to take a pic until we'd pulled it to that point!

Some new ones here, carrying on the burnt out theme! Holcombe Quarry, well known haunt on the Somerset Mendips. Better known for a flooded quarry where a few kids have died over the years unfortunatly, and was closed of ages ago. These have all been there over 10 years I would guess. From memory, this may have been a Capri Cortina Mini unknown unknown

More from Lydford Crosskeys, on the A37 from Shepton Mallet to Yeovil, Somerset Barn I have never checked out on site before houses these; My classic knowledge is normally quite good, I suspect Humber/Hillman, something Rootes maybe? This blocked the door to the barn, I couldnt get round there. I took these peeping on top toes through a window! Austin A30 too. Hearald and same A30 Imp

Craig, didnt see yours.
The barn is on the opposite side of the area where the ford classic etc are in the hedge, down a bank. Not easy to get to, my mate and I just looked and thought there MUST be something in there! turned out there was!

datsun 180b.... I think.... might be right there, there was a plate on the bulkhead that said nissan. the grille makes it easy, I wonder if anyone wouldve got it from the remains of the body! actaully i did get it from the body. That rear end where it slopes behind the window is what stood out to me

think they might be IDS or very basic ds's..... yeah ID. however, the ds pre about 1967 all had the single headligth fornt too. the 'twin headlight' type were later model rather than 'ds' specific. I know we have one ;D A french built (not slough like some people think) 72/3 DS23 pallas... alot of people also think that the later RHD ones were slough built but that was only the pre 67 ones... after that they shipped it all over to the french plant.. Which is also why alot of people are scared of RHD ones, as slough built cars were realy known to rot.... But its completely unfounded as when applied to later cars its irrelivent...
