quatermass - shelsey walsh usually has a nominated quiet area, although it has never been that quiet to be fair.
if beermuffs arent an option for you then foam earplugs can go a long way to civilising your neighbours ;-)

Earplugs would have been a good call in hindsight. Sadly I didn't have any with me. If people are just chatting that's not going to keep me awake. I wasn't ever expecting monastery levels of absolute silence... just a cap on music and audible activity past about 1am would have suited me better, personally. But, all things considered I recognise that I'm not sufficiently braced for taking a risk on camping at RR again. It's always going to be a bit of a lottery. The friends I was going with arrived late on Saturday so they got stuffed in the far corner and as a result they had loads of space and unbroken peace and quiet. Just the luck of the draw really int it. Rather than hoping the campsite will suit me, I need to accept that I don't suit the campsite.

There should have been a designated quiet end - unfortunately in the set up stage we were all pre-occupied with getting water sorted for the showers and other set up related issues. We also recognise that we were camping Goodwood style and that isn’t going to happen again - we will ensure camping is safe but we recognise the need to change stuff to suit our event

bstardchild, The thing I am most ashamed of is that we are even having this discussion. I vandalised Sparky's expression of gratitude to you all for your hard work, and that is unforgivable. As a punishment, I have re-installed my RR air freshener in my car as a daily scent-based reminder of my error . You all did great. It was a great weekend, one of the best, and you all deserve applause not squabbles.

Well, I had a ball. But then I did many years camping on Maison Blanche for Le Mans, including the Mazda year, I can also sleep through a Tondo festival. I'll be back and vicariously sleeping well next year. 😁
To be honest, given 99% of the comments, it sounds like the RR team did a great job of organising a fantastic weekend. So well done them.
