Would like to put the fugitive on a club stand, so was just wondering if the BNMAC have any interest in getting a stand, I’ll copy MrSpeedyand start a thread, Add your name if you want to join, then I’ll worry about working out the unimportant details.... like, what to do  johnthesparky UVA fugitive |

As much as I'd like to be there, I don't think I'm going to get to the Gathering. I did attempt to abdicate my emperorship of BNMAC so that somebody else could take BNMAC to The Gathering but unfortunately my loyal and grubby subjects got a bit tetchy and refused to acknowledge my abdication, leaving me in a position of being emperor under duress.
I haven't checked the founding constitution but I am fairly sure I have one untouchable power as emperor, and that is the power to pass on the mantle of leader to anyone I feel is fit for purpose. It's an amendment designed to protect the club in the event that I fall physically or mentally unfit to carry out my duties.
If you would like to become emperor of BNAMC JohnTheSparky, I will gladly put a staple in a toe or get myself arrested for walking up the high street naked shouting about lobsters, in order to trigger the transition of power.

If all else fails, we could reformat into kingdoms... you could be king of the middle lands, I'll be king of the south, and maybe one day RR will do something that requires a king of the north.

It’s not possible to abdicate, I was just going to start a list on the basis that you weren’t going to be there  You are still the rudder and foundations for this club, without your gentle, almost fatherly hand steering us on the correct path we would surely flounder and dash against the metaphorical rocks I haven't checked the founding constitution but I am fairly sure I have one untouchable power as emperor, and that is the power to pass on the mantle of leader to anyone I feel is fit for purpose. D'you mind. I'm here you know. As to work, my travails can be likened to those of Hercules, or that guy shoving rocks up hills. I'm just too knackered to talk about it. Anyway, if you were dealing with incomprehensible Japanese documentation along with its arrogant and prickly set of authors, trying to convince the Dept of Transport that their Premier Airport Express Line is actually a high frequency commuter line through which we'll try to thread an airport service, listening to a hopeless project director saying he wants it to operate like Tokyo, conveniently forgetting much of that is 4 track (eight in places) and I only have two to play with, facing sudden and inexplicable changes to the passenger forecasts (inexplicable in that the Japanese forecasters refuse to explain them!), all whilst trying to get systems tender documents out of the door so it can open January 2022, you'd drink beer as well! Anyway, I can confirm my lack of presence at the Gathering, please mark me down accordingly. |

If the emperor still allows me after the weekender, I'd like to join in on the stand as well.
This time I'll be bringing my own Starlet.
Looks the same as the one on the weekender stand, so nobody will notice the difference...

I cannot drive over as my co- pilot and payee of half the large fuel/ferry bill to get from middle of Ireland to The Gathering, has to work....  However. I am attempting to arrange cheap flights for son No 3 and I to attend. I have camping tickets. I cant however find a way from Birmingham airport to Shelsey Walsh that doesn't take half a day. Worse. I cant find a way back at all. Its like the bus runs one way. Any locals got any bright ideas? We will have a retro, pull along wagon, custom thingy to show our lack of real fabrication skills..... |

Could you hire a small car at the airport? In the past I managed to get a cheapish weekend hire on a punto or something  |

Post something in pony express or a separate thread in the gathering section - someone must be coming from east / south east kind of direction that would come past Birmingham airport - M42 then onto M5 / Shelsey. I'd volunteer but apart from the truck bed there's only room for me and my luggage! |
