Hi guys thanks for the positive comments, i haven't done much with my truck over the last week. Family and work, i guess most people know that story. Anyway i went for a drive yesterday afternoon and on the way the truck stated to get slower and started to struggle with acceleration. After a bit of head scratching i put the air filter back in and it seems to be happy again. The reason the air filter was out you may ask?. Well i took it out as i couldn't hear the turbo spinning, my thoughts where get more air into the turbo see if it would help, well it seems to have worked as i can here the turbo now, even with the air filter back in you can here the turbo. I have also been struggling to find some underbody storage lockers to fit between the body and rear arch, i think i have found some now, they will need a bit of messing on the back edge to clear the leaf spring hangers but i want to fill the gap. Cant have everything all the time. These are 1220 X 400 X 350.

Well my storage boxes arrived yesterday so this evening i stayed after work and started to make the brackets. It took a bit of messing to get it sitting where i wanted, then get some measurements and start the build. I was going to bolt the mounts to the chassis but i decided against it as the chassis is hollow and would need crush tubes ect, so I welded them on. The front brackets have 8" of weld each side plus the 60mm across the bottom, the back brackets have 7" plus the 60mm, plenty of service area. Anyway some pictures

Anyway this evening I managed to make the other side mounts and get them fitted. Had to leave them for the paint to dry so i fitted the box on the right, need to get some more bolts then i can mount the box on the left. I'm very happy with how its looking now. Hope you like.

This would look super cool with some big bus polished ally wheel trims bolted on (to give the appearance of a low profile tyre).

Unusual build, just a word of advice, before using it in anger I would try to make it look more modified, the average plod will not understand the concept of lowering a fairly standard transit and could well insist you follow them to the weigh bridge on a regular basis, just in case you are over laden.

The rear end is standard, just taken 3 leaf springs out, so there is much they can really say, fresh MOT about 1 month

Yes, I think that this is possibly a great built. Unfortunately I can't see much of it. With or without my glasses it's still fuzzy.

Still blurry on photophucket, but looks like a wood deck going down, always a fan of a wood deck! once complete sitting on a sofa looking out over a sea view with meat sizzling on a bbq and a beer in hand would be pretty damn good!

Personally I wouldn't use softwood, it will be rotten in no time unless you soak it in creosote or old engine oil neither of which will give the effect you are looking for. If it is actually used it going to gouge out really easily.
Hardwood is the (expensive) way to go. I'm not sure if you might be able to cut costs by finding some reclaimed stuff? Maybe from a wagon trailer?
What about building a frame from Ali or steel angle and just boarding it in to give a flat deck?

The plan is to use some scaffold boards and treat them, I'm very tempted to get some epoxy and lay out on top. Bit like this, not sure how possible it will be or if it will even work
