Well we'll all have to wait he says around 2 to 3 months away for production yet for the 80 series.

He certainly seems like a good chap allright.

I would join up but not on Facebook (yes 1 of those weirdos haha).

I should so I could start a petition for WPL to build us a GQ patrol what else? A series land-rover? Or a rangey? Jeep is done to death by everyone else but never see a production series 1 or 2 landie or a GQ and jeeps are gay lol. 70 series I guess for another toyota. A little zook

I'd love to buy that for a 1/10 build but far out thats horrendously expensive and that's where these WPL trucks allow our rc dreams to come true at an affordable for everyone price yet still extremely scale and perform really well

The first of my D12s arrived yesterday, apparently even multi orders are all despatched as separate items, excited about the pure size of it! I couldn’t have a play as Ethan was around and needs to stay a surprise until Christmas .

Super impressed with the customer service from WPL so far. One of the guys who runs it is based in UK (unless they both are?) and he's offered to 3D print me some replica wheels that will fit and given me tips on how to lower it!

Current project is getting there...
Bobbed/Lightweight C44. I'm still mulling over whether or not I will continue to develop the cantilever rear suspension and I might have a go at making some longer shocks for the front. It has the flat electrics tray that uses none of the original engine bay plastics and an axle mount servo like my other trucks. This is the chassis from the green C44 but the servo and original flat tray and servo mount got moved onto my son's C34. This one had to wait for a new kit to arrive to use the body, servo and front axle from that.



















The shocks are the rear are too stiff and have too short a throw to use conventionally so thought I'd try using leavers to reduce the force required to compress them, while increasing the distance travelled to do so.
I don't think it's going to be a success. I might try moving the whole assembly down the chassis to get the actuating rod closer to vertical, but I'll probably just run it for a few goes then refit the stock shocks.

I've done a bit more on the lightweight C44 tonight. I've modified the cantilever arms to get more throw. I might have to move the shock mount to the upper hole, but I'll run it first to see how it goes. I was able to increase the length of the arm by moving the actuating rod mount behind the axle, by making some mounts that fit round the casing. I've succeeded in getting more articulation out of it so I'm feeling a bit more enthusiastic about persevering with it now. I should get the radio in tomorrow and give it a run if it isn't too unpleasant outside.

The orange C34 has had a spritz too, it's donated it's cutdown doors to the new C44 body so now has full doors. The orange overload is dampened slightly by a black bonnet, that hides some damage and the two screws that hold it on since the hinges broke off.

Lightweight C44 is nearly done - bar the ongoing modifications and repairs once it's out in the wild of course! I cut a spare wheel mount this afternoon. It finishes off the rear nicely but I think it also needs some kind of bumper as well - I might see if I can use the kit bumper on some custom mounts. I think it'll have to get some tow shackles too, they'll look good against the body colour and suit the style.

I made a hasty escape from work this afternoon with a plan to get out with the new truck, climb some hills and take some video. Unfortunately two minutes into the run and and I broke it. Without any tools or parts with me I had to abandon getting any dynamic footage and just took some more pictures...

I've also moved the spare wheel carrier down and forward slightly, it looked a bit precarious up in its original position.

New front bumper and some slightly oversize shackles. I thought it needed a bit more going on at the front.
