Chaps - I know this is basic but I've bought (and currently building) a wpl c24 (just a standard kit at the moment........) but I made a mistake misunderstood that the remote control parts apart from the motor and servo for the steering) isn't part of the kit. What do I order please - I think i know (just a simple 2 channel 2.4ghz right?) but is there a kit you guys would recommend? I'm building the kit for m 9 year old daughter -and I've already got the itch to improve it too! She's really enjoyed building it with me (as I have) so it's been a very good thing all round. But I need the missing bits - help! Thanks in advance.

The Res-V3 kit from WPL is the most straight forward, it also gives you the possibility of winch, light and sound control, things that would be extra if you bought third part radio gear. www.wpl-rc.com/collections/electronics/products/r-e-s-v3?ref=ssaOther than that you need a separate transmitter and receiver, and an electronic speed controller.

So I thought I’d quite like a C54 but I was kind of waiting until they either released it as a truck or started selling rolling chassis units. Well, markbognor solved that for me by not feeling the love for his C54 and putting it up for sale, at a price that I just couldn’t refuse. Here it is as it came to me. Handsome thing. Not a fan of the MN wheels though so put it onto ‘steels’ for now. Changed the grille out for the US quads as the MN lighting has running lamps and headlamps so it was a functional change. Felt it needed a little more omph so fitted the brush bar bumper. Not going to fit the wing bars or the roof rack though. Bit too much for me. Did a bit of Lego Christmas Eve wheeling. Quite capable for an RTR chassis. I’m impressed!

Spent a few hours today fiddling in the garage, managed to detail the wheels that are on the LC Much betterer.

It’s strange but to my eye if you use the Puma-era style nudge bar you can have colour keyed arch extensions but without in my mind they should be black. Weird I know.

I think I do prefer it without the nudge bar, so might keep them red having almost decided that I would do them black. It's the doing the the painting that I want less than the arches being black though I think.

I took the D12 for a run out today to the local skate park with the kids and their rc cars and scooters . Run the D12 on the skate ramp . Takes a bit of driving to keep a drift going without having a giro in it , may be the next purchase .

I bought a MN90 during lockdown and was never happy with the electronics in it , I did buy it as a RTR . This morning I received a package from WPL , a full set of proportional electronics. Was an easy swap over , servo taped in with double sided. Totally transformed it , loads better .

So does the MN90 just come with binary steering like the older WPL RTRs or was it just not very good kind of thing? I’m curious.

Got the D12 truck out again today , on tarmac rather than the skate ramp. Definitely more controllable on tarmac .
