Apparently that Rover in the last photo was so flexible the windscreen cracked whilst pushing it back into the pits

Great stuff! This twigged an old memory and I went off hunting for this thread, but alas many pictures are dead. There's some more here too, with some working pics this time. There's a great Facebook page for this sort of thing m.facebook.com/SPORT-Sedans-1451741031755093/ and several more with similar content. But the daddy of all the sources is The Roaring Season forum. Dig that out and have a delve.

Thanks for the links Mark, I thought there had been threads before but I couldnt find anything. It was only after watching some of the older racing on youtube whilst looking for the wolseley that the bug bit and I started looking for more. I'll check out the Roaring Season when I get a chance.

how dare you... a lot of those cars (Monaro, Cortina, Capri, SD1) are from New Zealand. So tempted to call you a bunch Frenchman right now (which I might add is a lot closer geographically than Australia and NZ).
Do love a good sports sedan, also known as OSCA (Open Saloon Car Association) or GTRNZ in the better of the Australasian countires.

Sorry about that, assumption being the mother and all that, I just didnt take New Zealand into account. Perhaps it would be easier to open the thread up to all wide body saloon racers, that way we can include more awesome, like Cortina from somewhere, UK? Hilman Imp Silhouette racer

The NZ All Comers need to be on this thread as well. Here are some of my favorites. The Bullivant / Shaker run Capri in its many versions ( already on this thread) The Morrari The Jennings Topolino. The breadvan Anglia's And many others.

And one of my all time UK favorites. Mike Berman's Berpop. Hard to believe nobody has ever built a good clone of it.

I do like that Morrari, I think its the wires that makes it. Somewhere within this bodykit is a......... Triumph Herald.
