Ticket bought. International driving licence done. Looks like 2023 USA road trip will be happening. Unfortunately I will be without my sidekick craigrk this time. Poor guy is off to a Spanish holiday island with his kids and sons in-laws Possible plan for week one……. I have also been offered this camper on the banks of the Mississippi River by Eve, my buddy Ray’s widow, to use as a base for further exploring and travels. RIP buddy. There may be food again……. A lot of food, for those interested in food. It is parked at McGregor Iowa, but puts Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana in reach on the return leg. This could turn into a killer run as far as distance goes, but more importantly for me is actually seeing and learning more. . We have managed to Bully Dennis into joining us again. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/205913/grizz-craig-dennis-2018-humdingerThis trip had followed a few that I had done before in the USA Thread links below. Extra biscuit order placed Good The 2023 adventure is on when does this road trip start ? I'm already looking forward to the pics Later Fabulous. Will be watching with interest once again. Thanks woohoo! book me a seat and some popcorn i’m in for the ride LOL, of course you ride shotgun, I know. Will a visit to Ethel’s be on the route? Yes, BUT. ^^^ Uh oh, can of worms in reach! swampy76 Thanks for bringing this up, I have my own views and opinions that are not always welcome here. If there was another forum like this awesome space, where I could post, edit and share as much, I would post the thread there in order not to offend. I am going to try make a few YouTube daily reports for my channel, and there will be girls, and humans and food and cars and stuff and animals, so subscribe and follow while I am out there. I hope all those offended steer clear though. But, to try put this to rest, once and for all, as mentioned in previous trips. It has previously been made clear by management that the internet has a ton of porn and such websites for anyone interested, to go look at. So I will be going to Ethels at least once, and enjoy the hospitality, people and food. But this is a family forum for want of a better description, so if we all want to see stuff out there, I need to toe the line or risk censorship, punishment etc. I hope you guys all understand. SORRY. I hope this reply makes sense. Oh, and one of the stops has to be this one. Much more aligned to most of our interests. After I stop over in Marysville, Kansas to take a couple of SA friends to dinner it is a logical first stop the next morning. www.museumofamericanspeed.com/Voted #1 by USA Today's Readers' Choice Award: Best Attraction for Car Lovers. The Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska, is a non-profit corporation founded in 1992 by "Speedy" Bill and Joyce Smith. The museum was originally located in a smaller building on Van Dorn street in West Lincoln. The museum moved to its current location on the Speedway Motor's campus in 2001. This 150,000 sq. ft. museum was formed to present a continuous chronology of automotive racing engines and speed equipment development to preserve, interpret, and display items significant in racing and automotive history. The collection results from the Smiths' personal involvement in racing and hot rodding, and their lifelong passion for collecting and preserving racing and automotive history.
This will be one of the best stops. I hope. Very interesting looking place ... enjoy 👍 When I looked into it, they only open at 12.00 during September. So I may have to keep going, as I do not have time to sit around for half a day, waiting for the opening time. BUT, there could be a solution in going there first on the day, then driving back in the late afternoon to Marysville for dinner etc. Ticket bought. International driving licence done. Looks like 2023 USA road trip will be happening. Oh yes! Tea & biscuits or more appropriately beer & chips at the ready. Can't wait for another Grizz roadtrip. Already subscribed to you're Youtube channel Thank you, and good man. Oh, and one of the stops has to be this omen. Much more aligned to most of our interests. This will be one of the best stops. I hope. Another place to add to my bucket list. The Americans do these things so well, and you know that the folks working there will be super friendly and enthusiastic. YT subscription already done. You are right. They can justify the expense, and visitor numbers are always very high for most of these sorts of things. Glad you're going back, albeit solo this time. My own US trip for next year is currently on hold as my travelling companion is currently in hospital and is not well. I shall be following your updates with gusto as usual. On hold is not ideal, but hopefully you guys will make it out there. All I can think about now is Mountain Dew Going to have to find some now! Real,Mountain Dew is sooooogoood. Excellent news. Looking forward to your write ups and videos. Hey Mate, good to see you here. I hope that I can get some decent YouTube and film footage captured. Watching with interest. Don't forget that antipodean forum several of us here also frequent. I'm sure the readers there would also enjoy a good old grizz road trip story. You could probably get away with leaving the dodgier bits in on there too. Thank you. I will see how it all turns out. Hopefully the content on here is good and clean enough to keep everyone happy, especially the sensitive viewers who complain first but never make the effort to contribute much. Fact. Let’s make this a trip that we all remember for the right reasons.

Done some research.. Fact checking ya know. My buddy Eugene skaiidawg who works in the UAE as an engineer, sent me this pic yesterday. He has a story thread here: wilddog.net.za/threads/the-uae.233043/unreadCopy of Mountain Dew. Right now, from from where I am sitting, I still prefer American MtnDew The stuff we get in the UK has all the harmful chemicals removed. So no real buzz or glow in the dark. mrbig Here you go. Seen and lifted off FB, so it has to be the truth. FACT CHECKED

I had a Polish copy of mountain dew, it was the same florescent colour when it went in and came out, god knows what was in it but I went bright red and my heart rate instantly went through the roof!

Possibly toxically high levels of caffeine and other substances. A supercharged dose of “Red Bull” The English version is like sweetened water.

First preamble or even preemptive post on the trip. Most of you know Dennis by now, a selfless, funny man and friend, closer family than my own brother, whom I love and have a load of time for. But as Dennis’ partner told me in 2016 when I met her the first time, Dennis has never met a stranger. And this friendship has evolved over time. We chat pretty much every day, and then it is 2, 3, 4 or more times a day. This morning Dennis, who is 6 hours behind me was chatting, he was headed to a local car show and would have liked me there to see the stuff on display. A few pics sent: When at the show, he sent a message…… The number is 1457 In my name. The prize…….. So who knows….. Road trip in a rough as hell Ratrod? I know I am stupid enough to take the challenge on head first. Of course one needs to win first. Video: A while to go before heading out, but yes….. excited already.

You all know by now that I like to share, randomly.
I recently discovered a travel story teller called Peter Santenello
He goes into various communities around the world and speaks to people, allowing them to tell their stories.
This may not be for everyone, and that is fine.
But here is a fresh episode that launched less than 24 hrs ago and has had over 1.1 million views.
The guy, Titus he is with is a very astute man, with a ton of insight into the world.
Enjoy

Hi Grizz, I notice that you are taking an International Driving Permit. It's my understanding that a British license is recognised in the USA. As we will be there later in the year should I be looking at one for myself?

Basically I see it just as a translation of the UK license in case an enforcement officer has a problem understanding our licence categories. Think Colour vs Color Tyres vs Tires Bonnet vs Hood Boot vs Trunk Not yet needed to use it since 2015 but makes me feel better.
