Advice on Renting Unit (East Kent)

I have been working at my brother's bodyshop for some 3 years or so now, but now face something of a calamity: my brother was imprisoned in November 2023 and has mental health issues (diagnosed with bipolar disorder).

Due to alleged things he got up to, the farm owners who have rented him the unit since at least year 2000 or before have told us we have to leave at the end of this month (February 29th).

I have tried speaking with them to get the unit put into my name, but they don't want to know, because they think once he is released he will be back to cause further trouble.

Being a bodyshop, it has a substantial spray booth and compressor running off 3-phase.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any similar units in the area for rent (approx. 2,500 square feet) with 3-phase fitted, or somewhere to store a spray booth, compressor, tools and possibly some vehicles?

curse word, sorry to hear that, I can understand where they are coming from though, any chance they would rent it to a limited company you set up and as a condition of the lease you get some type of banning order prohibiting your brother from the farm premises as a condition of his parole/ release. Its very bloody short notice they have given you - do you have a contract at all?

Thanks for that advice. My brother has a long association with the farm owners/managers dating back some 25 years, but that apparently counts for nothing much in the eyes of them for some reason; the actual farm owner is now living in Portugal, so I have to go via his managing agent, which is a bit frustrating in terms of delayed responses. I personally have no contract whatsoever with them - I was/am merely an employee of my brother.

I'll suggest that idea to him though, along with possibly keeping my brother's booth/compressor, etc. in there and renting them out to nearby bodywork guys...
