Well failing to carry out any real mods I stuck a sticker on the fuel filler flap.
I have been getting on with the wheels, all are painted, two are pretty much done, though could do with some more polishing. I'm going to get the other two like these then decide if I will spend some more time on the rest.
I've ordered some longer studs, so hopefully the battle to get them swapped in will start in earnest. I really want the wheels on for Retro Cars.
Its getting closer! Got the nearside front studs done tonight, bar tightening the wheel nuts when i dropped it back down because it absolutely hooned it down with rain.
I've left the wheel brace on the seat and a note on the front door
Off side studs to do tomorrow, then probably Friday afternoon down to the tyre place to get my tyres swapped on to the slots.
I would love to spend Saturday tickling the springs with an angle grinder but I am going to have a family day instead. I've messed with the car a lot this week and will be gone all day sunday at Retro Cars.
surprisingly this should end up looking quite cool....i learnt to drive in one of these... I have one these with a 1.3 and auto box in at the minute which seems to go like the clappers. auto is one of these continuously variable transmisions and its works really well. its going to end up being dressed as the bandit trans am and driven from portsmouth to portugal next month in a charity banger rally... can't wait... pic of it here... www.justgiving.com/thesmokey 2nd pic in i think...
