Top Gear wouldn't be Top Gear without someone getting upset, whether it's Marina owners, truck drivers, tree huggers... It's a shame, but they bought it fair and square and they can do what they like with it.

As much as people think you have, you have no right to put a covenant on a car once it's sold. If it's bought fair and square then it's up to the new owners to do what the flip they like with it. Lesson learned? Don't sell it if you want to 'own' it still Having said that I do sympathise with them to a certain extent I suppose, it's not nice to have to watch it happen

As much as people think you have, you have no right to put a covenant on a car once it's sold. Actually, you can. A Seller can add any legal terms he wants to a contract for sale of his car. You will likely reduce the pool of Buyers substantially by doing so. However, here's a typical example in the field of highly collectible, super-high cost cars: First right of refusal upon resale. This is not unusual in trading between collectors of significant mega cars, and terms of such covenants are negotiated as part of the sale. All the time, mate.

i don't mind marinas but come on these guys really need to get a grip it was brought off ebay fair and square top gear were in their rights to do what ever they wanted to it ;D i found the show very funny and when you hear what they were saying about the cars you had to pretty much agree with alot of it the cars were not the best cars built they were pretty poor at the time but we like them now because they are not your every day cars anymore not because they were a great car fact is they were never a great car but can be made into one .

I dunno, i was quite impressed watching my Cortina burn, even though i was gutted at the same time i thought going out in a huge ball of flame was at least a spectacular way to go.

Who cares? Theyve done this with countless cars, dolomites, SD1, and whatever else. Why are they complaining about the marina getting smashed up, then saying ''why couldnt it be a moggy or something more mainstream?'' Whats the flippin'difference!! Its only a car. 1 car, of many.

It's a fugging car!
It's not a Romanian orphan for christs sake.
ROFL at 'make a formal complaint'. I bet the same people were scoffing at the idiots who made a 'formal complaint' when jezza made the truck driver joke.
