I recently found your thread from a google search as I am in the process of building a group 2 e21 as well. I definitely need to pick your brain on the wheel fitments and such for your track car. This thread is exactly what I needed to find! YES!! PM replied too.
Went on a parts run in the 02 today, but clutch flexi pipe popped on the final leg. (sorry Rob) Managed to get the extra, boot mounted fuel tank for the M3 though and some classic ICE. I'll take some snaps once I thaw out. Unfortunately the bits Rob has, are the bits I want most and include a high ratio e21 steering rack. I am having a batch made but they're taking forever. I bought Robs as I didn't want another delay, to finishing my e21.
The tank was a bargain but I need to order some new fittings from the main stealer.
Anyway, I'll go take some pics of the ICE

Nice looking ice mark, when do you get the m3? Not soon enough! It'll be about 6 long weeks.....42 days....1008 hours It's not that I'm counting or anything. Meanwhile, I'm just gathering a few little bits to put my own mark on it and make it more suitable for me. Jason (the previous owner and thoroughly decent chap) has fitted my Ridgard seat and I have a new steering wheel to go on. He's also removed the driver side door bar, from the cage, to make it easier for me to get in and out. I may just drop the bar down to sill height though? The only other thing I may do, is fit carpet? I'm still undecided though. I have decided against fitting the coilovers though. A lot of work was done by Black Falcon Motorsport in Germany, to make this suspension work at the Nurburgring. As a result, it's stiff but remains soft enough to cope with road use. They've used H & R Suspension, H & R Anti Roll Bars, adjustable camber plates and a strut brace, so I figure I'd best leave well alone. The one thing left to get is a DTM style single wiper kit but its £357! Ouch!

Thanks for that fella. It's funny but apart from a few weeks, I haven't been without an 02 or an e21 since 1988. Even if I had the money for a modern BMW, I still wouldn't be without a 70's or 80's one. Well today was a lucky day and thanks to an impulse search of German eBay, I now own the final bit of the M3 jigsaw. A Bonrath single wiper conversion. Yay! Happy days! This will be the look I'm after but I've yet to find a set of those glorious AC Schnitzer split-rims.....yet.

Love the mono-wiper look on these older BMWs. I did a mono-wiper conversion on my e21.

urgh, hateful things get some "clearbra" as the yanks call it, aka some nice thick clear vinyl, saves the scratches that a bra flapping about leaves.

Helicopter tape looks awful though and to be honest, in the 6 or 8 journeys a year I did with the bra, it never did any harm. It was a good fit and didn't flap about though. I could probably get away with taping the spoiler, although it does get road rash after a while, but I wouldn't use it on the leading edge of the bonnet.

Very nice Mark, colour will look great on e21! (Prob suit it better than the 46) Where did you pick up the MPower engine cover? I've only seen them on ebay US for lots of cash... I was a bit unsure about the colour at first. It's the first time that I've ever got to choose exactly what colour my car was going to be and it was a bit overwhelming! Laguna is actually a pretty old colour, so should suit the e21's shape. I can't wait to see it finished. I bought the cam cover at Gaydon, the year before last. It wasn't cheap (I think it was about £120 or so?) and I'm not usually a fan of M badges on non M cars. I'm justifying it to myself by saying the engine is built to s52 spec' as per the US M3's though! Hi mark I love this your e21 is awsome brings back memory's of mine I had about 13 years ago wish I still had it :-( Thanks. I've had e21 since about 1990, when I had a henna red 320 carb model. After that it was a silver 323i. I knew a guy with a metallic brown 323i with LSD etc and set out to find one myself. What I did find was a rare sport 323i, in gunmetal grey, Recaros, LSD and dogleg box, Bilsteins etc. It was absolutely gorgeous but the dealer wanted £2k, which was a lot for an old e21 then. It would be an awesome car to own today. There's a whole lot more interest in e21's lately.

There are some lovely UK e21 heading for the show circuit this year. In fact, there are probably more this year, than any other year before.
