Year: 1992K Mileage: 130,000 kilometers Tax: April 2010 (so out of tax now) MOT: 2009 Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Price: £330 Due to all 6 of the bidders on ebay being timewasters (including 2 RRers) here is the Delica AGAIN Its a 1992K Delica 2.5TD Exceed, It has 7 seats 4 of which are captains chairs, it also has all the gadgets - electric windows, electric sunroof, electric rear roof blinds, power steering, 4-speed auto, hi and lo gears, inclinometer, inside/outside temperature gauge, alloy wheels, front fog lights, air conditioning, bullbars, side steps, rear spoiler, etc. As we all know by now the engine is in need of work. Here is the good bit though - £330 cash takes it (£300 for the delica and £30 of new diesel). If need be you could strip it of the many good bits, and then weigh it in, but it doesnt need much to get it back on the road. whoever buys the delica at the full price of £330, the £30 that I put in as diesel will be donated to the HKP fundBy the way, I have tried putting some fuel in it and it still wont fire

Wonder how much an AA "tow me home" policy is? This would make an excellent project.
Edit: What's the switch with the green light next to it (to the right of the steering) do? I'm just curious, is it a foglight switch?
I was just thinking, has it stopped because of the fuel cutoff switch or fuel pump fuse etc?

I was just thinking, has it stopped because of the fuel cutoff switch or fuel pump fuse etc? No such thing on these, it's a mechanical lift pump. If there is no fuel getting through then the most common candidate is an airlock in the fuel filter. Pop the filter>engine feed off the filter housing and pump the primer until you get diesel coming through, reconnect the pipe and away you go.... Panda, have you done a compression check yet with a working compression tester? Might be worth doing....if it's got good compression then £330 is a very good price and you should get a quick sale. Without the compression check it's going to be harder to sell

Blimey, is that all that these fetch?! I really can't get my head around how these aren't up there with Peugeot 505's and Hiluxes on the export list - they're 4wd, rugged as your mother and J!! Crazy world....

I havent done a compression check with a working tester as I cant find anybody with one for a diesel. If it doesnt do by Friday, its getting stripped and sold off, then the rest is getting weighed in Shame really, as i would have liked to use this, especially as the Scudo van we use for work has lost 5th gear now, so we top out at around 40mph so we could have used the delica for the business

It's no different to selling something for charity. Everyone that does a banger charity run does it after. At that price I wish I was able to get it to my place. Just that pesky untarmaced 20-mile stretch that's so hard. That'll break into a good deal more than three hundred odd.

That'll break into a good deal more than three hundred odd. Agreed, it's got to be worth more in parts.

Does seem cheap, did you try it with a sniff of WD40 or ether? Hows the welding coming on on the Wagon?
|

tried the Wd40, but its not having any of it after a bit of thought, and talking to the mechanic, it looks like the piston rings might be stuck in the pistons hence why it has no compression

Just wondering if your glowplugs are working correctly and the pump timing's ok. Might be worth putting some WD or Plusgas down the bores and letting them soak. You never know, it may just work.

Have been up to the garage with a new can of WD40 and sprayed a good dose down each glowplug hole (half the can used ;D)

Is it an electronic pump on this - if not could you try making it 24v to give it a bit of a better spin over, contrary to popular belief it is possible to gas up a diesel. Is there any fuel coming out if you slacken an injector pipe off and crank it over? I don't think its going to be that knackered it won't start at all, does it smoke at all when its being cranked over?
