Citroen CX! ok it's 41 officially but in the UK it was 1975 they were available. it's one of my favourites (that's why I've got one!) CX dashboard it one of my all time faves (I'm a dashboard fanatic haha) Btw, I'm loving that Mk1 Polo ^^ it's one of the first cars I remember as a 3 year old my aunt had one (think it was the first car i knew.. Like that CX. You'll have to put a thread up about it. Always had a soft spot for big Citroën's.

Automatics are the way to go in a Mercedes. The manuals are horrible. Mind you there's an LE for sale here but its a manual which is putting me off looking at it.

Hard lines with that. Looked like a nice example of the breed. Good luck finding a rust free W210.

Not a bad looking machine. Any plans for it. Funny you should mention powerful Saabs as I've recently acquired a 9-5 Aero Hot and it is deceptively quick. Good luck with your new purchase. At least you'll hopefully have some good weather this week to enjoy it in.

Cracking machine you have there. Always had a soft spot for the XJS. The amount of roy around that screen is crazy. Good job you got it sorted.

Didn't think you would have had much trouble with the MOT judging by the standard of the work completed. What about a thread on the E28 it looks brilliant as well. Majorly jealous i wouldn't mind your collection of tasty 80s motors.

Fix the Mercedes. A lightweight at that price, even with that awful paint job could have lots of problems stored up for you. The Mercedes is always going to be rarer and if you fix it and want to sell there's always plenty of lightweights about. Come to think about I wouldn't mind a nice example of each, but that's being greedy.

Probably won't suit but what about bicycle handlebar tape. Some extra glue will help it stick better. It would suit if you're only doing a small section and would allow retention of the original wheel.

You wouldn't think that that is the same car from the start of this thread. It really has tidied up well. Chrome strips look spot on. Definitely a good idea to keep this as a commuter and save the W126 from potential damage. The only problem is that hack cars can really grow on you and then you start to get precious over them, especially if you've spent so much time and effort tidying them up.

I should have said that before i was born my mother worked for Spot On here in Belfast. They used to sell bags of slight seconds cars to the staff for a nominal fee. As a kid I had loads of Spot On toy cars which I still have but most are completely wrecked, they were well played with. If they were in good shape they would be worth a fortune now. About 10 years ago there was a model car/railway fare on close to us and she went with me to it. The stall holders were very impressed that they had met a former Spot On employee and questioned her for ages about the factory. Made her night.

I still have all my old toy cars from when I were a kid and also built up a large collection on Dinky/Corgi models from the late 80s early 90s. I even have a complete Corgi Chipperfields Circus collection from about 20 years ago. All of the recent ones are boxed and in great condition but I haven't looked at any of them for years. I should really sell them and put the money into a real car.

That's amazing how well the paint came up. Toying with the idea if a Minor myself and have gotten the go ahead from my wife as she quite fancies one as well.

Some nice photos there. Like that early Midget with the fat steelies. Have to admit i like an MG especially one still used in anger in competition. Id hoped my Midget would have ended up as a hillclimber but wasn't to be.

Looking good. Glad to hear you've got it sorted. I suppose now that it's finished you'll be parking it up now that Spring has sprung.

I saw that lurking in some of your Volvo pictures. Always seemed to be quite capable off road and looked like cheap fun. I'll await future installments with interest.

Love it Sophers. Funny I've been watching some old Maigrets with Michael Gambon. Some great shots of old Citroens and it tuns out they're making a new one with Ronan Atkinson! Seeing this reminds me of the first time I ever saw a classic car show when I was about 10 and there was a blue Traction on show. In amongst all the old british machines it stuck out like a sore thumb but I thought it was the coolest of machines. To be honest I don't think I've seen one since and that show was about 1975. Keep up the good work good to see it back on the road.
