Yes they are, not had time to get stuff up on the forum yet as Weekender has me slammed to the wall with things to do. Also I have Covid apparently so that is adding a nice frisson of feeling rubbish to the mixture. Thanks for the clarification HoTWire. Hope you feel better pronto chap.

Maybe another entry in the Modus Operandi as well for explanation? Regarding ignorance (of netiquette)? In that matter, thanks to Rich (and possibly other mods, too) for removing those full quotes in the past. It’s also a peeve here too and if the quotes images don’t bear any importance on the reply I’m happy to prune but sadly I/we can’t be everywhere 😄

DOT 3 vs DOT 4 in Rezin Rockit Rich

I would be more concerned about using fluid form containers that have been open for ages. Personally, I'd bin the open containers and buy a litre of fresh, which ought to be enough to do the whole car with a minimum of waste. Exactly my thoughts on the matter on the main thread.

Open bottles of brake fluid have a finite shelf life and the motorcycle bottle looks old. I’d use the DOT 4 and be ready to buy more, using the open bottle to ‘wet’ the system first. Hating waste is one thing but when the absorbed moisture from a few year old bottle of brake fluid has ruined the new brake parts, I’d say that’s more wasteful. Plus. It’s brakes. Don’t scrimp there for the cost of fluid.

He is currently abroad doing film set work. As such I think his design work has taken a back seat. He doesn’t frequent the forum any more these days, not entirely sure why. He isn’t really even very active on insta at the moment.

Who In gods name is charging you £400 for wiring a trailer socket? I assume it’s modern, you just need a CANBUS bypass module. They are actually worth fitting to any towbar install in truth as is unloads the original wiring on the car. £600 supplied and fitted (although that is for a removable bar) and the towbar itself is about £150 only. You're right its modern and needs CANBUS wiring running up the entire length of the car and splicing in under the dash. I'm happy to bolt on a towbar myself, but messing with CANBUS electrics is a little out of my comfort zone. Why does it need to go under the dash? The only wire a CANBUS bypass needs that could possibly come from the front of the vehicle is the permanent 12V feed it requires. Otherwise it connects to the tail light wiring the same as any towbar system except rather than the vehicle light loom powering the trailer lights directly the CANBUS bypass uses a set of microprocessor controlled relays to power the trailer lights from aforementioned 12V feed so there is negligible additional draw on the vehicle wiring. It’s really not a complicated system. Anyway, off topic. Sorry!

When you've got three trailers and a 50's tractor with no lights half your life when you need to move stuff is playing with trailer boards. Duff bulbs, bad connections, frayed wires, broken lenses, you name it. Moving a few sheep or the car trailer becomes a major enterprise. Not with these babies! No cables, Bluetooth, 10 hours life and way brighter than any incandescent bulb. Just plug in the sender to the 7-pin socket, turn on the light units and magnetically clamp them to the trailer/tractor. Seeeemples Those are cool! Assume they run on a battery? We just need someone to invent a 'transmitter' unit now that sits on the car light clusters, 'reads' what light is on and sends the signal to the trailer lights. Would save me £400 getting towbar wiring fitted to my car! Who In gods name is charging you £400 for wiring a trailer socket? I assume it’s modern, you just need a CANBUS bypass module. They are actually worth fitting to any towbar install in truth as is unloads the original wiring on the car.

Might be why so many new vehicles use oil / need topping up between changes. That’s again down to how the engines are manufactured. They consequently wear faster due to how they are built in the first place to meet emissions targets. stealthstylz is your man for explaining the phenomenon.

Alternator fault by the sounds of things. Check the small wiring on the alternator. They have a common issue with the wiring breaking.

Pretty much every car on the road nowadays uses a super thin fully synthetic oil for economy and emissions. Nothing new there.

A Japanese coin hidden under the carpet of my imported Toyota aristo Some say the previous owner puts one there for good luck, others say Someone at the factory does it, I bought a lexus ls400 years back, I found a month old boxed Garmin sat nav complete with receipt from halfrauds still got it but don't use it now Or it fell out of someone’s back pocket getting in 😀 More likely that it was intentional. I’ve found a few myself, always the same coin and no others. It’s a blessing thing I think.

Then really you will have to fit springs off something else or have them custom made. Unless you want to fit those whack spring clamps. Which I wouldn't personally. Wonder if Corsa springs would work. I can't recall how small the ends are on 207 springs.

Even Euro Car parts sell lowering springs for a 207 so, err, yea. Buy lowering springs for a 207. They are cheap enough to buy a set and just use the rears. Those spring clamps are horrible and just look like a cause of early spring failure.
