or the story of yet another rusty old Ford getting chopped to bits ;D With The Osi safely tucked away in my mates´barn for a while and the Capri more or less finished for now, I thought it was about time to dig out the Fiesta and get it sorted. I´m not joking about digging it out either, mother nature has been busy the last few months as usual at "Oldbus Garages" it needs a bit more than just a quick going over with some T-cut... As with most eBay pics it doesn´t look too bad ... and it only owes me 150 Euros so can´t complain about a bit of rust... Trouble is once I get the anglegrinder warmed up I sometimes get carried away a bit.... ;D Happy days!

Haha, looking forward to this one! Me too ;D this looks like it could be very interesting... hope so mate when you do a pick up conversion, did no one tell it's the top half of the roof you cut off I knew there was something wrong once the rear axle dropped on the garage floor ;D You sir are a madman of the highest order! Can't wait to see how this progresses Dave, you have me on the edge of my seat as always. Just following your lead Ian I thought it was about time i built something interesting to get me up the strip at Santa Pod. I got myself an Escort and was going to drop my spare 24V BOA in it but there was no way it´d be really quick. The usual way to go is to up the power and lose weight so i sold the Escort and bought the Fiesta so weightwise i should be alright. Upping the power is not quite so easy. The more BHP you need the more it´s going to cost and to be honest i can´t afford spending lots of money on an expensive engine and as i´m not in a position to build one myself i had to rethink the whole project. One of the things that i´d noticed at the Pod is that there are a lot of very powerfull cars out there but they just don´t seem to get the power down. Now i´m no expert and this project is definately not to be taken seriously but with a big engine up front and rear wheel drive this is hardly surprising. 4 wheel drive has to be the way forward methinks and to get as much traction as possible (remember this is not for the track) ideally it should have the engine in the back. Can you see where this thing is going? ;D

Its a cut and shut but I like the plan Cut and shut ...sounds good to me ;D ;D Think that says it all really! ;D I like! Some small subaru (justy or the like?) due to be chopped up, rearranged for rear engine and put into/under this? Not quite mate, i´ll explain..... I was looking into dropping the BOA (2,9 V6 24V) into it and converting it to rear wheel drive but it´s been done before and with realistically 180 bhp it´s not going to be that fast down the strip so i´ll be dropping it in the Capri instead So i´ve been looking for another solution, most of the decent (200bhp +) stuff is just too expensive especially once you´ve sorted out the gearbox and rear axle and you´re pretty limited if you´re only looking at rearwheeldrive stuff. I was round at my mates having a beer and a natter in the garage, he runs a Vectra B as daily driver and we got talking, had another beer and somehow I came up with the idea of dropping a V6 in the Fiesta and to make sure it´s fast enough how about a second one in the boot ;D ;D So here´s the first donor... A 1998 2,5V6 Vectra I paid 400 euros for it and there´s at least 500 Euros worth of goodies on it that I can sell, so with a bit of luck the running gear´s for free ;D ;D The engine runs at 170 BHP in standard form. With it chipped and decatted should be about 200 and with some old fashioned tuning cams etc. should be able to get a bit more out of it...or should I say them!!! So with a bit of luck i´ll end up with with a twin V6 Fiesta knocking out about 400 BHP with 4 wheel drive ;D ;D Like I said earlier, this project is not to be taken too seriously but it should be good for a laugh!! Right, i´m off to go and have a read of Street´s "Family Dragster" thread

Just thinking about vauxhall V6's, why not look at the Saab 9-5 3.0 V6 turbo engine... It comes from Vauxhall so that should give you some ideas!

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mark, if I can get ours to do a 12.6 with me (read big fat barsteward ) driving it i´ll be more than chuffed!! No other words needed realy. ;D the best cut and shut two engines just don't use two fronts Glad you mentioned that, I must make sure I fit the rear one in the right was round cool, I was just wondering a couple of days ago if you were still alive... no need to answer now ;D Will I see you in Lobbach ? We´ll be there in the Capri mate, if I can get the gearbox fixed beforehand cool project , you could pick up a 300 quid volvo t4, 2.0 and fwd, oh and 200 bhp before mods I did look at Volvos and a few others makes but the Opel was local and cheap and more importantly my mate is an electric god when it comes to Opel so it´ll do me for now. or saab 2litre power with intercooler and chip, 240bhp is supposedly reachable, cheap as chips to buy too but what ever is going in, its gonna be mental! Also I had to lol at the 1st picture. reminds me of the 1st picture of the capri lol cant wait to see this build progress Cheers mate, Saab was an option but they´re not that common over here and as I need two engines i´ll make do with the Opel bits, although to be honest i´m not much of a fan. Just thinking about vauxhall V6's, why not look at the Saab 9-5 3.0 V6 turbo engine... It comes from Vauxhall so that should give you some ideas! ta, Rich Good idea Rich, cheers mate. the Omega MV6 engine can be converted to FWD too, any ideas on the Saab? I think I need to be careful with the gearbox ratios and keep both boxes identical otherwise it could become difficult synchronising them. I spent most of the day yesterday just dismanteling all the rubbish off the engine that I won´t be needing... i´d have had the Capri engine in and out in the time it took me just to get all the aircon cräp out of there The electrics are going to be fun too...
