The capri I need to collect tomorrow is in Sutton (which it seems is sarf lundun) so I have a question... Is it better to use the M25 all the way round to leatherhead and then up the A24 through Epsom. or North/South circular roads and then wandsworth/wimbledon/merton and down the A24 instead? Both routes say they should take about the same time, but the M25 is about 20 miles further. I don't have to worry about LEZ because I'm driving a 3500kg truck, but I have no idea if I need to sort congestion charge or anything like that. Google and AA direction finders don't mention needing it though.. Sorry for the boring-ness, have a picture of the capri in question during happier times.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Depends on time of day. I regularly do Birmingham to Maidstone and I only consider going as the crow flies after 9pm
I'd take the 25 as I've already wasted too much of my life on the North/South circular and you'll see some planes

I'd say go round as well, only worth considering going through in the day if the M25 is jammed.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

The last time I drove through London it took me nearly 3 hours to do a 8 mile round trip so i'd say go around. Preferably Newcastle to Amsterdam then drive to Calais and back over to Felixstowe, probably quicker than the M25 lol.

Daytime? Go round. Don't be tempted by going round the east side over the QE2 Bridge as there are roadworks between the M11/A12 and it's SNAFU a lot of the time.
Go past Heathrow and oggle the planes!! ;D

There are currently roadworks between junctions 9 and 10 so you will find yourself stuck in a bit of traffic. Still the quicker way to go though ;D

round it, going through it is a ballache!! Well unless you end up coming down the M11 in which case (time of day dependant) i tend to shot down the A12/A13 through the Blackwall tunnel and round the south Circular (maybe not) or even further out through the burbs. If you come down the A1/M1 then round past Heathrow would be my choice....

You'll probably save fuel doing the extra 20 mile and avoiding all the stop start too. TBH it always depends on how board I am with the motorway if I'm doing a long haul return leg. Planes aside town is better for site seeing Are you picking up the trailer too? Looked a useful bit o kit that. It was on Speedbirds drive near me till a short while back, didn't know the cappa was in the garage.

Go round via Heathrow...but if your going to Sutton it might be better (and I always do) to get off at the A3 and come in that way rather than all the way round to the A217
