I had to get a new exhuast for the viva which prooved to be quite difficult (single front pipe version) untill I stumbled across this chap who not only had one in stock, but also the mid section - all NOS and a good price (cheaper than anything close I found on ebay). I'm sure there are many of you fellow retrinians in the London area that have already met and used this bloke, but for those who haven't heard of him before - check this out......
The bloke in an inspiration. The shop is, as you can see, rammed floor to ceiling in every nook and cranny with rare and obsolete retro and classic goodies.
Check out the last pic - he doesn't own a computer - got it all in his head and the many, many books and manuals he has behind the counter. This chap is an advocate for old school engineering and the restoration and maintenance of classic vehicles. belive it or not, he also has a warehouse which I'm told is far bigger and 'is where he keeps his stock'
He's got plans and backing from some good places to buy a dis-used airfeild and create an engineering academy focused on passing on the knowledge of manual engineering and tool skills from the old masters to the new generation before it's too late as well as hosting classic and custom events etc (future RRG site with an airstirp and fully tooled workshops and garages anyone?? ). He gave me a CD with all his plans on, synopsis and photos of the airfield which I will upload and stick on here when I have the time.
The dude runs Collectors Car Parts right next the Hethrow. Give him your custom, enthusiasm and support wherever you can - A man can never have too much support and mojo when undertaking a project like this that will enevitably serve us all and generations to come. Check him out and show the man some love..
