more work do and the drivers side door is now all done and fits much better than the passengers side, the hood has been adjusted so i'm happy. Now time to remove the body and do the final bits of welding to the body and chassis, so off it comes
Also got the two alloy shod with some tyres.

Amazing build, can't believe i missed it up until now. Love the use of escort bits where needed [those old herald door locks were rubbish anyway, i seem to remember they'd fly open if you pushed it too hard round a corner...] how many horses will the zetec yield?

Thanks guys Yes, when l borrowed it from my mum when i last rebuilt it for her(nearly 20 years ago) the door flug open on my girlfirend(now my wife), who was quite shocked as there were no seat belts in it at that time!! As for power zetec 1.6 is rated at 90bhp so with exhaust de-cat and air filter probably around 95 then with the auto box robbing some power l'm expecting a little faster than 13/60 but with a bit more torque as zetec has nearly 40 more than the 13/60. But later after l'm happy with the brake and suspension setup because l'm sure l'm going to have to change spring rating because the rear seams to hard and l've fitted vitesse front spring because although the engine is lighter than cast iron 6 the gearbox is heavier but that is also further back so we'll see. Then when l'm happy a zetec with supercharger/turbo going through 4 speed ford C4 gear box will go in and then power hike to around 160-180bhp!!

you've achieved what Harry Webster should have done 55 years ago - a decent rear end setup!
guess you can't really tell with the spring stiffness/heights until out on the road.
Great work, have enjoyed this thread
