right then it is time to rekindle this thread...
DVLA sending me a logbook was a cockup. the car was stolen and listed on the police computer so I was unable to drive it but wasn't allowed to sell or scrap it.
Then started a 2 year communication with the police to sort it all out. After talking to many disinterested police people I eventually wrote a snotty letter to the chiefs of police in Gloucester and Kent. This seemed to have the desired effect.
Although still dragging their heels i was eventually put in touch with the original owner. We sorted out a deal so I could in effect buy the car again.
Knowing a deal was imminent I dragged her out of storage.
I got confirmation this week that it is off the police computer so no time wasted I sorted MOT and tax.
Last night i drove her over to gloucester to the saturday night takeover cruise. Going was great, running repairs in the car park as it dropped 3 cylinders and fuel issues driving home meant I had to tow her home but it was a great night
