I'm down to 1 car for the first time in 10 years and trying to see if 1 car actually can fulfill all my fun/comfort/speed/space/adverse weather needs so it's a 1999 e39 M5 for me. Have it 1 month now and have put 4000km on so far. If you are only going to have 1 car, thats a great choice.

I'm afraid to say my daily isn't retro.
130i M sport. Being a 3 litre straight 6 in a little hatchback it's entertaining in the wet!
Prior to that was my Civic vti which I had for over 10 years. I miss that car.

Petrol is apparently going to drop soon anyway That also depends on how the government feels about tax and for toffs in London bleating on about scrapping road tax and whacking the lot onto fuel... My daily this year was a MkIII Mondeo 3.0 V6. That was given to my sister. It then became this: However I got cold feet about things like salt etc. rusting the car away. It seems that the memory of how badly the Escorts rusted even when they were a decade old has not left me. So now I own this. A 'sort of' retro to some I guess:

I had some very good after market traction control fitted to my BMW E46 in the past, only cost me £9
Remove the spare wheel & replace with 3 x 25kg bags of sand from wickes lol, worked great, even managed to set off on a hill on summer tyres haha.

Another E36 323i daily here too.

I'd rather loose by a mile cause I built my own car than win by an inch because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let anyone else write the book.

Supposed to get up to 50 mpg. But because I know that it gets driven properly resulting in more like 35 mpg

I'm down to one car for the first time in years alive just moved into a new place so bought this 325 cheap to get me through the winter but the plan is to nick the engine out of it next year and build a clean compact or e36 saloon and just stick with 1 car so I can save money and get rid of my traders policy

For me its a 2013 Mercedes C220 Diesel, great for the work commute and very good on fuel if you drive sensibly.
