I collected the aforementioned Carlton, and have drawn up a to do list on it. This weekend, assuming I have a pile if parts awaiting me when I get home, will be to crack on and repair as much of it as I can and service it inc timing belt. In amongst that I need to patch weld a repair to my neighbours sill following his car catching an axle sand on the way down from the jack (still fuming with myself for this, but the sooner I fix it the sooner I let it gooooo)
Sunday morning will be my overlap for finishing the above, then non car feasting in te afternoon. Will he get it all done? Stay tuned!!

I'm hoping to show the MG some love by adjusting the tappets as they currently sound like someone is closing some of the valves with a jackhammer carbs could do with a tune too as its damn near impossible to start in the cold.. I might try and find some time to have a poke round a new daily as well...

Much of the same from previous weekends. Wideband sensor has arrived, ECU should be here so I can get the MG started.

Haha the Jag, as much as I love it, has a bit of a drinking problem its not the best car suited to my short commute really so I think it may be time to downsize a little which will release some funds to make the MG a bit special As for what the new daily could be.. well thats not finalised yet EDIT: The Jag isn't going straight away as there are a couple of jobs I want to sort on it first

As my P100 is still away I can't measure up to do the bits n bobs I need to sort on it so I have to focus on MrsSmokeEm's daily.
Only jobs this weekend I believe are to swap over the drivers sun visor for a 2nd hand one I got from ebay and change the wiper blades for new ones.
Really should go about making the charging panel for the truck bed but still can't decide on a final design.

Went to Manila Auto Salon yesterday. How they can make something potentially so interesting so incredibly dull is beyond me. Picked up a new socket set off the Snap-on/Blue Point stand at over 50% discount though, so the day wasn't a complete waste.
Today, when I've woken up sufficiently, will be stripping the EAS valve block and replacing what looks like a million O-rings.

Quick tuneup : check timing then set carb mixture using Carbtune Rewire front lights to move sidelights from cloudy original underbumper indicator/sidelight units to new integrated sidelight/headlights. Sidelight size was 2x2 now 5x7 Much easier to see in the dark nights!

This weekend I plan to get the RR Awards nominations up. Get a page for the RR summer holiday sorted Maybe pop down to the work shop and tidy it all up in the hope that next weekend I'll be getting my car... fingers and toes crossed everyone (just in time for rubbish weather) I'm also considering restarting our newsletter so may investigate some options around that as well as continuing to try and optimise this place for speed, readability and general betternessseses. 4 for 4 not done.... Although I did spend some time removing and replacing javascript stuff so the forum should run a bit smoother. Had to replace the previous share buttons with some new ones, but I tried to make them mobile, tablet and scrolling friendly

Not bad, I managed to achieve the timing belt change and replacement of all ignition on the Carlton. Snagged on the alternator belt which i forgot to order (easy fix), power steering belt due to the brackets seized (less easy), and spark plugs as the bumburgler I ordered them from hasnt bothered shipping them yet.

I'll be trying to work out what the new noise is that's coming from the rx8 engine bay!!
Then trying to source a new sensible family car, if you can count a twin turbo saab as sensible!!
