...well, that's where you lot come in I suppose...!!!
On my travels I've seen many things in the classic car realm and I'm sure you have to so this is where I'm coming from here...
For example, yesterday I saw an old dear driving along in her, obviously cherished 1987 Ford Fiesta XR2i...! It is those kinds of things I always like to see as you can just picture them getting that new (or new-ish) and really relishing every moment of owning it...! Things like that appear a tad surreal to me and I love that...
So, what (classic car wise) do you take pleasure in stumbling upon on your travels?! I know this is perhaps a tad on the vague/open side but I thought I'd give it a go as a thread...
So, what've you got...?!?!?!

These are my favourite kind of spots and the older cars survive much nicer in warmer climes.
I like to take photos of classic or interesting cars "in the wild" when on holiday.
Although I mentioned warmer climes one of my favourite wild photos was a vw camper parked in front of a similar colour / styled apartments block.
I'll dig the photo out and plonk it on my photobucket...

I know what you mean! It always makes me smile when I see proper classics out in all weathers, kinda makes me think 'good on you for owning that car to drive it, not to polish it'. Bonus points for driving a car without an option for a roof in the rain I used to see plenty of Morgans like what when I lived in Malvern.

I travel to Basel 2-3 days a week which is about 130km from home.
Parking is a pain so I always park in a 4 story car park close to the train station.
I was doing the old "would I swap my car for that car" when leaving yesterday and was at 125 - 0 when I came across a gold late 60's swb 912.
Bit scruffy around the edges but solid. That is ballsy when they have just started to salt the roads here. Great to see though.

If I remember it correctly, coming up the busy N7 into Dublin years ago, the first thing I spotted was an empty car transporter being towed at a tad over walking pace up the hard-shoulder. Curious. Then I saw a couple of hundred yard ahead of it, something very 1900's horseless-carriage chuffing up the hard shoulder. It was a beautiful sunny summer late afternoon. I reckon the mustachioed old boy driving had brought it by trailer to a car show, decided the day was too good to waste and took a chance driving it a bit of the way home. I can't recall ever seeing anyone grinning from ear to ear as much.

These are the ones I've got on line, all random spots rather than park up and pose shots, and for me it's the environment that make them photo-worthy rather than the car on it's own ... VW Microbus in Brighton / Hove - Austin Mini City (e?) on the Mumbles - can't remember name of that particular section - Chevrolet in San Diego - Trabant in Berlin -

Every morning rain or shine I see two seperate MGB gt's getting driven to work, one by a guy in his 40's smoking a pipe and the other by a young lad. Makes a refreshing change to the sea of rush hour euro boxes.

Now that is all very nice...
Sometimes I wish someone else was driving my car so I could actually 'see' it and be amazed by it in that specific way...!!! If you catch my drift...?!

VW Microbus in Brighton / Hove - That's a great shot, some good buildings in Brighton even the bus shelters are art-deco.

I don't want to get this thread to closely associated to this already amazing thread... retrorides.proboards.com/thread/24449/rr-spotted-thread...but I'd like to know what kind of situations you like to see classics in?! Walking along on a Sunday seeing an old Austin Maxi getting cleaned by an old boy, seeing an old dorris driving her (probably owned from new) Vauxhall Viva to the shops... You know the kind of thing?!?!?!

Thanks MiataMark as I say it just naturally worked. Some of the Art Deco stuff is in disrepair at the moment but hopefully it's being refurbed.

There's an old boy who lives near me that drives a Morris Minor daily, and a couple of people who have Capri's as their daily driver.

I see what was obviously until recently an immaculate Mk4 Escort van being used by (I think) a local decorator sadly it looks like someone has taken a dislike to it and kicked in the passenger and one back door, other than that it looks ace.

I like seeing old vans and wagons as most are driven to death and then scrapped in Ireland saying that seeing a clean car pre 1995 is a rear sight

...anything "old" here as they are few and far between and only come out now and again. However, this made me smile. A lot. A pal of mine turned up at the pub in this the other day. It was his very first car, still going strong, driven regularly and very tidy. He's very proud of that!

You know the kind of thing?!?!?! I know what you mean - I used to like to see my own car being driven by a pal, just so I could see the pedestrian view of it, and hear her burble. Cant see or hear that inside it. I used to work nights - and every morning as I left I saw a big Bearded gent with scarf in his beloved Triumph Dolomite, Summer Winter - snow whatever the weather he drove past - putting a hand up to acknowledge each other - he became a steadfast part of my going home ritual. And actually got worried when he didnt show on that specific time. Broke my ritual!!
